There is no economical way. You are wasting your money. I have tried every different angle. You cannot beat the system. Customs there is hell on earth. Take what you can in suitcases. You are allowed 2 suitcases 50 lbs or less please a carryon. Load these up but don’t go under $600 per person. and extra box or suitcase is $100. I can give you the name of a cargo place. You may email me or call

Mariposa, it’s important that you define your term — to yourself and to the rest of us. If you have furniture, kitchen stuff, personal belongings, etc that are valuable to you, then you’ll need to be thinking of a shipping container. If what you want to bring is just clothing and a few pictures, etc, then an extra suitcase may be enough. Pay the freight. If your needs are somewhere in between, you can have a shipping company crate it up and send it when they get a full container.
It all depends on your needs and wants.
All I can say is that unless you get major appliances for free, you cannot beat the system. Customs in San Jose is hell on earth. In addition there is no warranty. They have Maytag appliances. Pay dollars US get the best deal and they will deliver anywhere in the country and give you a full warranty. Life is too short. That is why you are moving there. Not for hassles. Currently there is a mattress sale at one of the better stores 50% off. Save your money take your necessities and move. Remember I learned the hard way twice.
