I have property in Zarcero and have family there they are nationals as our son married a tica, I know that will help us settle in batter I have access to a new apartment to live in while I consider building options. Would like to make contact with a some americans close by, my state side AD is taber2boat@hamptons.com. I have been coming down to CR for about six years now, now I am getting more anxious as I see the prices for construction and other things going up. Like all I have questions to ask before I come down. On another note we were down from mid Jan to mid Feb and spent some time at our favorite beach resort, I was surprised to hear quite a few tourist say that the beach as gotten so expensive that the Caribean or Cancun were getting more attractive both price wise and for the white beaches. Wonder if the tourist thing is going to slow a bit.

I love the Zarcero area but it can get cold up there… There is quite a little community of Americans in and around Grecia area is not too far away from you but I don’t personally know too many in Zarcero.
Don’t wish to state the obvious but, the “tourist thing” isn’t just comprised of people coming to Costa Rica with a view to buying real estate, there are quite a few people that come here to vacation and have absolutely no desire whatsoever to buy real estate.
