I was told to be real nice with my language so here goes
A friend of mine recommended that I write in this here Discussions forum about being real careful doing business with people who have a real unusual way of doing business like taking your money and not doing what they are supposed to be doing after they have taken your money for a project of some kind
This guy NAME DELETED* is in Playas del Coco and likes to promise folks that he is gonna do all sort of fancy shmancy glitzy techno-things for people on the internet to help them sell their real estate he tells you he got one of them little helicopters that takes photos and videos but nobdoy i know has done seen it and then he tells you his girlfriend crashed it
He is happy to sign an agreement and happy with 50 per cent up front and he takes your money and just doesnt do a dam thing and I know three people that hes taken money from and not done the work but I tell you he finds a way to paint himslef as the victim every time
Lets you and me look at it this way real simple
Instead of being a man, if an NAME DELETED* was a kind of house you was thinking of buying and you asked me my opinion, I would tell you whatever your thinking DO NOT ENTER the house youreself.
I would recommend that you sent in the extrminaters to kill the fleas, lice, rats and other vermin and playgs that are in there to protect anybody that might be walking near and you should then burn the building to the ground and ship all the rubble and s*** to the same place in China where they dumped the World trade Center then nobdy can get near it or get hurt
I hear NAME DELETED* also did not pay for the rent for the home hes renting so I am guessing thats why NAME DELETED* is advertising his furnituire for sale cos hes about to skip town again for somewhere hes not known as well and start this s*** all over again
Hopefully this might give you the headsup on this character
*NAME DELETED to avoid prosecution for slander and libel.

It would appear that one of our moderators have deleted the person’s name but for the phone calls and emails I have already received, you are obviously referring to a man called Abel Ramos. And this will not be deleted.
I paid Abel Ramos to do a month’s consulting work – NONE OF WHICH HAS BEEN DONE – and he has promised on at least a dozen occasions to repay me the $2,500 in emails and in a telephone message and I have yet to receive a dime
Must admit I love your analogy …

Thanks.

If you re-read the first posting you’ll see that Abel Ramos has been contracted to design and build websites and put together marketing plans to help sell real estate.
It has been reported by a few people now that Abel Ramos is happy to accept the 50% up front to do the job but – as it was in my case – he took the money, moved to Guanacaste and has not done the job.

It is also sad that what is actually fairly simple work is not getting done. I build websites for all types of things and the most difficult thing to get is good photos and the second most difficult is to get paid (much less 50% in advance. . ). In Costa Rica any decent place will photograph beautifully and should be easy to build a web site around.
Getting a quick and dirty website with good structure up and running can be done in a few hours. Pretty design and bells and whistles are a different thing but can come later. I’ve registered URL’s, built a site and had it up and running within 4 hours. Propagation of the URL globally then takes another 24 hours (at the longest). Fast turnarounds are important, time IS money, especially on the Internet.
Now the marketing plans are a different thing. . . however, if you are selling from a web site then ads placed in a few places including on search engines would be a start. Ads pointing to the website from major US and Canadian newspapers would be next. You might also want to advertise in Germany, France, England. . . depending on the class of the property and how much you can spend. Small text ads simply pointing to the web page are cheap.
AND, A web not so secret, secret, YouTube videos are indexed within hours of posting. They cost nothing to post other than creating the video, are seen by millions globally, and can be pointed at your web site. They can be real video or a slide show.
Maybe I should give up my US business early and move to CR and develop realestate websites. . . However, this goes against my recent beliefs that CR is being oversold and will soon be overpopulated with people that want it to be like a US beach town. . Change is coming much too fast everywhere.
