MY FAMILY OF THREE WILL BE IN COSTA RICA FOR AT LEAST 75 DAYS AND POSSIBLY LONGER. WE ARE ALSO LOOKING TO RENT A CAR LONG TERM AND I TOO THINK $30-35/ DAY IS TOO MUCH. ANY OTHER IDEAS? PERHAPS RENTING A CAR FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS ONE “SITTING AROUND”? I WOULD ALSO BE WILLING TO PURCHASE A CAR… PERHAPS A MORE POPULAR MAKE AND MODEL THAT WOULD ALLOW FOR QUICK RESALE AT THE END OF OUR TRIP. WHAT ARE THE BEST WAYS TO PURSUE THIS OPTION AND HOW DO I CHECK THE ASKING PRICE TO THE VALUE OF THE CAR, IN COSTA RICAN TERMS? THANKS!
Hi there . I know a guy who has a car ” sitting around ” and he usually rents this car for long term visitors . then if you want to buy a car or you have further questions ,,i am sure he will help you out to find a good deal.
my friend and guide jonathan you can reach him at jonathansedo@hotmail.com
Go to this website http://www.crautos.com, it’s were most people in Costa Rica sell their used cars. You will get an idea as to how much cars cost in Costa Rica and what’s available for purchase. If you decide to purchase a new car and wish for a quick resale, your best bet is Toyota, Nissan or Hyundai.
thank you for referring jonathan, he is very helpful and thanks to alvaro for the used car website.
