Scott and friends
does anyone have an idea of where i can find a nettie pot here and iodine free sea salt.. thanks
harlon
This is totally uncanny as I had a conversation just last week with a nurse about where I could find a Neti pot, Neomed salt and GSE (Grape seed extract) – I have since visited a umber of ‘health’ stores and can’t find any of them anywhere.
The good news is that Cemaco has a wide range of very reasonably priced teapots and one of those will probably do the job for you…

Try using a rubber bulb syringe or turkey baster for more aggressive irrigation. That’s what I recommend for my patients over the nettie pot. Walgreens has a kit made by McNeil with an irrigator and salt packets . Michael L. Walker, MD- otolaryngologist.
I ended up buying two squeezeable ketchup containers – they came in a pack of two – from CEMACO for c850 colones which is less than $2

i ended up buying the Grossan Hydro Pulse® Pulsatile Nasal & Sinus Irrigation System.. incredibly superior to the nettie pots.. although i am not sure about the squeezable ketchup bottles lol

Dr. Michael Walker – ENT specialist was kind enough to take the time and email me the links for some of the sinus irrigation products he recommends to his patients:
“A good irrigation solution is 8 oz of bottled water with 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of baking soda and 1/2 tsp of clear Karo ( corn syrup). Another good nasal douche is ALKALOL mucous solvent mixed 1/2 or 1/4 strength. It has eucalyptus, and some other alternative med herbs in it that inhibit bacterial growth and clear out the sinuses. I use in all my postop sinus surgery patients. Walgreens has it in the US. It is over the counter. “
Alkalol is: “Great stuff ! I highly recommend it as a nasal flush to ward off sinusitis and relieve allergic congestion. Use bottled or boiled water to dilute 1/4 or 1/2 strength.” [ http://alkalolcompany.com/index.html ]
