I am also using the card and am happy. I use it to telecommute to my job in the US and while slower than cable, it is definitely faster than dialup. I live in San Rafael Norte in PZ and we don’t have any other options that aren’t astronomically expensive. I find that the speed varies depending on time of day, i.e., MUCH faster in the wee hours and really slow around dinner time. You can buy the card from ICE but they will install the SIM card in any device you bring in. Most of the librarias (sorry if I spelled that wrong) carry them for double the price at ICE (I think I paid about $100 about 5 months ago) but ICE sells out really quickly and it’s hard to figure out when new cards come in.
All Satellites that deal with TV are line up on the equator. The US programing satellite do not work well here because they are aimed at Denver.
The 3G stick is just like you cell phone. It is just set up to use the data channel at the cell site. There is a place on some of the units for an external antenna. This would help some people that have poor signal. Hope this helps. Fry
I guess I’ll quit complaining about the few hours loss of service once or so a week. I have a 2mb DSL
