    Hi
We want to keep our flight dates flexible, and our travels inside Costa Rica house hunting may be short or extended…our booking agent is going to charge us a substantial amount to have our dates changed on the return portion. Do you know the rules regarding flying in with no return ticket? Cash and credit cards are no problem in our case. Or would be advisable to just accept the extra…it is more than the 2 one ways at our agent.
Thanks, your advice is always very helpful.

Hi Michael, I believe in order to get in you need a return ticket dated no more than 90 days from your enrty. I could be wrong but I remember reading that. They never have checked my tickets upon entry but they may have already known I had the return ticket. Maybe someone else has a more accurate answer for you. Good luck!

We get our tickets dated for as long as possible. If you must return early….just call the airlines and change departure date. We have used Delta. It only cost $100.00 per ticket to change the date if needed. They will work with you as much as possible. Call the airlines and talk with a “person” discuss the issue. They may have a better idea. That has always worked very well with us.

One way tickets are usually expensive!! (Tried that one time)

Good luck with your adventure !!
We always have a BLAST!!! on each trip.

Hi, I actually took a bus from Austin, Texas to San Jose and bought a return bus ticket to the closest city in Nicaragua in case I was asked about a return ticket. TOO the point when I was ready to fly home I ended up buying a round trip ticket as it was cheaper than a one-way. Then just chucked the return ticket out…
