Just one extra comment, and not political, from someone who’s been reading this discussion thread. One reason that I’m contemplating a move to CR is that the Ticos have a reputation for courtesy and a desire to avoid unnecessary confrontation. When I read the initial message in this discussion, I recognized that this was a person who likes to stir up squabbles; in other words, a troublemaker. I see that several responders admire this trait. I don’t.
There are enough real reasons for confrontation in the world. We don’t need to manufacture artificial disputes. I witnessed a of lot ill will generated in this discussion that really didn’t need to be raised. Hopefully when I am able to make my move to Pura Vida, I can avoid people who like to argue over trivial matters. I’ll try to keep my acquaintances limited to people with a more Tico attitude toward life.

DebAugust 2, 2006 at 4:24 pm #177821*LotusMemberEditer: I like that and agree 100%!!! There was a time when I liked to “stir the pot”, even on this board. I have given all that up and am a happier and more peaceful person. I am in the now and following the path of least resistance. Pura Vida!
August 2, 2006 at 10:12 pm #177822joseph1ParticipantHi ALL,
I am the guy who stirred the pot. Please everyone calm dowm forget what I said and chill. Some of you seem just too up tight to have some fun. I do not wish to cause anyone any grief. I guess I do not know my own power. Please excuse this hard driving gringo, and live your lives and be happy.

August 8, 2006 at 2:40 am #177825colinsitoMemberHey if you want to bust your a** for the rest of your life at some job in the US to make yourself feel “productive”… go to it. We ain’t going to miss you down here.
I’ll bet you a lot more than “tree huggers” drive you nuts.
I am not sure what you are “full of”, but Jeez, I hope it’s not contaigous.
I am quite happy not to “compete” all my life. But, hey! You go girl! I’ll watch you on the “Tele”.
“Really Lost” in Puerto Viejo
http://www.Colinsito.comPS, Yes, I am a Canadian. I can assure you, we are very good at paying taxes. In fact, much better than Americans. We have to. We have expensive socialist health care.

August 10, 2006 at 4:56 pm #177827DavidCMurrayParticipantBut Joe, you have yet to make *your* point which I asked you to do in the very first response to your initial posting. So how about a coherent statement of what prompted you to even open this line of discussion?
August 10, 2006 at 5:24 pm #177828colinsitoMemberWell Joe, you fired the first shot. You make some broad sweeping generalizations about people here and people fired back, now you want a truce? We’re not at war. Are you?
Have the thought of maybe an apology have crossed your mind?
And as asked numerous times? just what was your point? Were you just trying to get a dig at people who might be talking life a little less seriously and easier than you do? Or maybe your jealous? Only you know your true motives for making these kinds of statements, but I can only guess them.
As for your remark about wishing people well and good luck, i hardly feel it is sincere… so why bother? In regards to being happy, yes, I am happy. Are you sure you are?
Still paying taxes in Canada (if it was any of your business. I just thought you would feel better so you knew i was not getting a “free ride”) and “hopefully lost” in Puerto Viejo.
