My wife and I will be touring CR within the year and are currently
scouring the realestate web sites for homes and commercial ventures.
We would appreciate some basic information on towns or cities that
offer things to do for a young family (our daughters are 10 & 8)
like Roller Rinks, Movie Theaters, Gymnastics, Martial Arts. We’re not
interested in “Mountain Getaways” or “Downtown Living”, a nice
multi-national community close to a city would be wonderful. We’re
open to sugestions and possible realestate links.

    Thank You, Dougle

Fun things to do are important but suitable educational facilities are probably one of the items at the top of your list or, are you planning on home schooling?

Yes we do home school our kids at the moment and plan on doing so where
ever we wind up. Although if the Costa Rican Educational System is better
than the States (that my not mean much) we would definatly enroll them
in a local or private school. We did read another thread regarding private
schools and were interested in them. Right now our concern is getting out of
of the U.S. while we still can.

Would you care to share ‘why’ you feel that way?

“Getting out of the U.S. while we still can.”

    Would love to know …

Perhaps that question and answer should be left to a different thread
on welovecostarica.com. With all due respect could we return to the original
    topic?

I really don’t think that you would find the selection of culture and entertainment that you and your young family might enjoy anywhere except near (within 45 minutes) San Jose…

The children’s museum, movie theatres and real theatres, gymnastics and martial arts schools are located where the majority of young ‘artistic’ people are which is near San Jose.

The other factor that I would consider important (as a father myself) is that when those little accidents occur, in living here, you would be near to the best hospital in Central America – CIMA.

We can romanticize about ‘sunsets at the beach’ all we want but at the end of the day, real expert medical care is nowhere to be found near any beach it’s here near San Jose.

I have no idea what your budget is for real estate but you might look in Santa Ana, Heredia, Belen, Ciudad Colon, Escazu or go slightly further and check out Puriscal and Cartago.

    Scott
