Hello all,
quite new to this forum thing – lets see if i get any useful advice.
Bought property in south pacific zone couple of years ago in name of S.A. Currently drawing up plans for a 2 unit ecolodge vacation rental. The project will market itself at high end vacationers looking for a unique vacation rental among nature, with a big emphasis on ecoluxury. While I have the ball rolling in terms of concept, designs and plans we are still short of the finance necessary. I am currently producing a sales package/ brochure complete with investment options, ROI, timeshare schemes, facts and figures etc

One thing I’m finding it hard to get a difinative and CLEAR answer on is info regarding tax. Specifically corporate tax (income dividends to shareholders?!?) property gains tax, income tax, property tax.

Any accurate advice and comments would be very much appreciated

many thanks in advance,
Joe, Barcelona

We do have an entire ‘Taxes in Costa Rica’ section on this site at:

You might want to ask the author of most of them – Randall Zamora – your questions… He may not give you the answers you want for free but you would be getting your answers from someone who earns a living consulting with some fairly high powered customers about “taxes in Costa Rica.”

You want to read this article on Lodges/hotels on the Osa Penisula what was pertinent when you purchased your property may be invalid, now.
