Hello everyone! If anyone is applying for “Rentista” status and is having a difficult time getting the bank to write the letter for you please let me know and I will post the letter I got from my bank and you can copy the model and present it to your bank so they have an understanding of what you are asking for. You only need this letter for “Rentista” status. If you are applying for “Pensionado” status I am pretty sure that you do not need this letter. What you will need is a letter stating that you are retired and your pension is $600.00 a month or more. This letter comes from the company you worked for who is paying your pension. In my case, I have a Social Security Disability pension and therefore I had to get a letter from the Social Security Administration. It was easy as one , two , three. I called the 800 number and they asked some questions electronically and then a live person came on the line. I told them what I was doing and requested a letter stating that I am on SS and the amount of money I received monthly and that was it. They said it should take about 10 business days for the letter to arrive. It was much easier than I expected. Be patient gang, these tasks are time consuming but they are not as bad as some folks would have you believe. Good Luck to all of you, any questions please feel free to ask as I’m learning more and more everyday.
