I need to buy a car in about a week and I was going to try to go through Russ Martin at autos@fijatevos.com but I have sent two Emails, one in December and one January 21st with no reply yet. Did he go out of business, or does her just not answer Emails?
Does anyone have any other suggestions please?

WeLoveCostaRica.comFebruary 12, 2007 at 9:54 pm #181660fijatevoMemberHi D Rushton, I did not receive your emails, but it could have been due to confusion about the address. Our site address is autos.fijatevos.com (or wheelscr.com) and the email is info@fijatevos.com , although I should receive any email addressed to any address on our server – computers don’t alway work as we expect them to 😉
Anyone interested in buying a car can browse through the site in Spanish and contact the dealer directly. If you don’t speak Spanish, don’t want to drive around San Jose and would like a guide you can use our PASS service. For $250 dollars we provide the following services:
– Assist you by email or phone in determining what make and model suits your needs and budget.
– Advise you as to arrangements you might need to make in advance in order to complete the financial portion of the purchase (wire transfer PIN, debit card, etc.)
– Pick you up at your hotel in San José
– Take you to see quality cars that meet your specifications, either at dealers advertising on our site or other reputable dealers.
– Assist you in completing the purchase. If the car is coming to Costa Rica for the first time you may need to wait one day in order for the temporary plates to be issued by the National Registry, so we will return the next day to take you to pick up your car. Many of our clients want to make the purchase as quickly as possible, we have had cases where the person flew in to San José in the morning and drove off with their car in the afternoon. Other clients want to check every angle, need time for a wire transfer to go through, or just sleep on the matter; so the purchase takes a few days.
The best way to contact us is from the English page on our site ( http://autos.fijatevos.com/english.html ) Also you can see some testimonials there and more details.
I have asked to be notified of replies to this thread, so I will also be happy to answer any further questions anyone may have about buying a vehicle in Costa Rica.

Must have been a computer malfunction. Anyway I’m glad to be in touch. I’ve sent a separate Email and hope to see you next week.

February 14, 2007 at 5:24 pm #181662jafranzMemberI bought a vehicle using Russ and Kattia in November 2006. Everything was done in a very professional manner. I would use them again if I was to purchase another vehicle. They made my buying experience easy
