When we are exploring areas to settle, I was wondering about towns outside of
San Jose- a little further than santa anna like San Mateo, San Ramon, Grecia ,Atenas, Naranjio. etc. What are some nice communities?
Prices seem more reasonable than Mid-South Pacific, Weather cooler

    Hola mustardgirl,
There a several tours for some of those areas. You may want to take a look these websites. http://www.boomersincostarica.com/ and also http://www.costaricaretireonss.com/ They are both focused in the central valley area.

    Good luck!

    check out Plantation-estates.com in Naranjo.

The 10 remaining lots have inside views but the place is beautiful!

When will you be in C.R.?

If you continue on the highway past Santa Ana, you get to Ciudad Colon, and then Puriscal. They have similar climates as Atenas and Grecia (coffee growing regions) and are less crowded and more rural and ‘Costarican’. The tours mentioned will show them to you, but if you rent a car, you can look for yourself – the roads are fairly good –

You also might want to check out areas south west of San Jose along the pacific ridge. This area has not been populated as much as the area that you are bloging about. South of Cartago on the way to San Isdro. This area has many un touched areas still!

    Hola Musatard Girl:

We live in San Ramon, love it, it´s very central, one hour to beach, one hour to airport, large town with movies, hospital, etc.

email me at ranchos@racsa.co.cr for more info.

    Jose
