Am coming to Costa Rica at the end of Aug. and want to retire someplace
with some elevation for lower temperature, yet somewhat close to a bay.
San Vito looks good on paper- anyone with info, good or bad about the area.
You should seriously consider the San Ramon area. Its average elevation is around 3,000 feet above sea level which gives it an excellent climate. It also has great views of the Gulf of Nicoya and the open Pacific which is only about 15 miles away as the crow flies. San Ramon is located equidistant between San Jose and Puntarenas, both being 45 minutes away. It also boasts a modern hospital and an extension of the University of Costa Rica. I have lived here for 16 years and have travelled most of the country. I would recommend the La Posada as a downtown hotel, or Angel Valley Farms Bed and Breakfast which is just outside of town. Good luck. Ben
