Our Tico neighbours tell us that scorpions come in when it is cold outside and we have never found them in the house in the wet season, but we get 2-3 every December/January.
We have fitted door sweeps on all our doors and we use Baygon across the doorways as well. We don’t have a serious problem with them or with most kinds of ants either.
It definitely isn’t cold here in Guanacaste, but I was stung by one on a ‘very delicate part of my anatomy’ 😯 while in bed on Sunday, in the middle of the night! I had changed the bed linens that morning and had placed folded laundry on the bed as I was putting it away. Whether or not I had brought one inside, I don’t know, but did smash it into many pieces on the floor!
