I would like information on selling insurance in costa rica. Does one have to be licensed? If so, what insurance companies sell life, health and disability?
inslady…you really, and I mean really need to read the rules & reg’s for living here then the recent updates .
Then you will need to search and read a whole new chapter on insurance in Costa Rica.
But the short answer for the time being is that INS has a national monopoly on all forms of insurance — health, automobile, homeowner’s, and life. Probably business insurances, too.
This may change with Costa Rica’s acceptance of CAFTA a year or so ago, but so far there are few apparent changes.
