Happy Holidays to everyone. Has anyone had luck sending parcels to Costa Rica space available with any of the airlines from the US? I hear that AA is as low as $1 a pound. I know the post office has flat rate boxes for $37 for up to 20 pounds but alot of my stuff doesn’t fit inside their boxes. I live near O Hare Chicago Il.

Looks like you can find their cargo rates at https://www.aacargo.com/shipping/rates.jhtml

Have they reinstituted this method of shipping because last year they told me they would only accept cargo shipments that came through a freight forwarder — you know, it all this homeland insecurity nonsense that has changed the rules. $1.00 a pound is a great rate, and if this can be done without going through a FF, please let me know.
I live in Vancouver Canada and have found no inexpensive way to ship a few, or one, box to Costa Rica. Via airlines it would be about the same price as buying a ticket and taking the box of things there myself.
I went thru Jaco a coupla weeks back and noticed a UPS office….what about shipping UPS portal to portal….at least you can track it, and pick it up at the local UPS…..
That’s true, UPS will take your package to and from CR, but the year before last I wanted to send my sister a Christmas package and the shipping rates from New Jersey to Costa Rica were so expensive that it was actually more than the cost of a plane ticket there for a not too heavy, medium sized box. I have found that UPS is not very cost effective when shipping larger items….
That’s too bad..I would love to send a real pressure washer down there…all I could fine were elect ones, that never do a decent job….maybe I’ll take it apart, and send it in pieces….
