Does anyone have any recent news on the building of an international airport in the Palmar Sur area? I heard an environmental impact report was being written/submitted but haven’t heard anything since then….
As far as I know there is no new news ….
I honestly don’t this is going to happen for a very long time ….

Hi Scott,
Thanks, that was my feeling too until I read this article a few months ago.

Also I heard a new marina is going into Golfito?? Maybe its just a thought versus actuality…
Thanks, Bruce
… and as usual, not one word about where the money will come from.
There’s one sentence in an article today in La Nación about the highway to San Carlos that’s important for us to read:
Original version in Spanish: “La carretera a San Carlos se concibió en 1969 y la conclusión está prevista para junio del 2016 (47 años), destaca el informe.”
English: “The road to San Carlos was conceived in 1969 and completion is scheduled for June 2016 (47 years), the report said.”
No one is in a rush in CR, that’s why we all love the place!! Sounds like the airport will take the same amount of time…
