The Super Bowl is over please let me know if bradbard’s statement that the FBI is in Costa Rica to shut down and areest sport book operations there. How many arrests were made and how many sport books have been closed down by the FBI. I await the facts on that claim. As I said I will formally appologize if a one was closed and or if one person was arrested by the FBI. If this didn’t occur please let me know if the 200 FBI agents can come back to the US and continue working on crimes here in the US. If the FBI isn’t there closing Sport Books or arresting sport book employees will at least on person agree it never happened and it was just a conspiricy theroy.

I am not sure if it’s defamation, slander or both but would caution you (for your sake) not to call a London Stock Exchange company an “illegal gambling operation.”
2. From AmCostaRica.com this morning: “Immigration and labor raid causes fear at gaming firms. Foreign employees and managers in sportsbooks and other gambling Web sites are on edge today because immigration and labor ministry investigators staged a raid Friday morning.
The raid, which has not been confirmed by any official agency, took place at a gambling operation in Oficentro La Sabana. The news of the raid sent ripples through other Internet gambling operations.”
Workers said they thought that someone had tipped sportsbook executives because many of them did not show up for work Friday.
In the case of the Oficentro la Sabana operation, several persons were taken into custody, unofficial sources said, adding that officials also visited an operation in Rohrmoser and another in San Pedro.”
I wonder who tipped them off….?
February 5, 2007 at 12:36 pm #181350vegaskniteMemberWell bradbard I know the difference between a partnership and a shareholder I also know the 5% rule but I don’t think we need to go there I explained why I used the terminology and corrected it.
I am not concerned with defamination or slander because you can’t be in any trouble when you are stating the truth which I did. The company I referenced and the employees/stockholders have been indicted for ilegal gaming practices on more than one violation and even charged with running an ilegal enterprise and the Ricco act. But thanks for your thoughts.
Lastly the raids by Costa Rican authorities on ilegal workers is something the government has been doing of late as Promised by the President of the country. The tip off or warnings you are suggesting were not to the CR authorities but to the sport book management which is what was troubling the authorities since they weren’t available for arrest. You can’t cherry pick an article and take words out of context to try to fake a point. There is no mention of the FBI or any relationship to these raids and the US government. Unless you are saying the Costa Rican authorities doesn’t want the jobs for Ticos. Or maybe if you stick with the truth the article clearly states the Costa Rican Government doesn’t want foreign workers taking Costa Rican jobs. Thus the same reason they raided the Hotel Del Rey which also has many ilegal foreign workers there. The other main issue is the raids took place on Friday allowing the operations back up and running for the super bowl. When you asked the question what does law enforcement do in the US for super bowl I answered they raid the ilegal bookie joints on Super Bowl Sunday and arrest the employees and confiscate the money. No money was confiscated in Costa Rica all operations were back up and running after the raids Friday the raids were conducted by Costa Rican authorities to crack down on ilegal foreign workers that take Costa Rican Jobs from Ticos and the tip offs went to the management about the raids before the raids a sign of curruption within the Costa Rican law enforcement agency. Similiar tip offs happen in the US when cops on the payroll of the criminals warn of raids before raids take place.
As every good conspiricy theorist does they twist facts to make them justify their theroy just as was done in your post. I am not saying you did this intentionaly I believe you read the same article I read and saw what you thought was the authorities were tipped off and a few other misunderstandings or left out facts. Like the one about Hotel DelRey. Also that the raids gave the operators pleanty of time to be open for Super Bowl Sunday. Another missing fact is this is just a sample of raids that have gone on over the past week or so for ilegal foreign workers. None of the other raids had anything to do with sport books. Yet the last missing piece of information is that these sport books are known to have many ilegal foreign workers and even forged papers. Would you agree that is a much more acurate account of what took place last Friday. Or are you still convinced that the FBI is in Costa Rica making arrests. Maybe you are correct and the US FBI is helping the Costa Rican authorities get rid of the Ilegal foreign workers because they sure aren’t doing anything in the US to get rid of our ilegal foreign workers.

Scott Oliver and anyone else interested in learning more about US organized crime and gambling and why the US is so hard on it.
A couple of links as I said I would provide about how Organized crime used off shore partners for ilegal betting operations after you read these you will have enough information and names to do more research if you like these are not related to Costa Rica by choice.Edited on Feb 05, 2007 08:02
February 5, 2007 at 2:27 pm #181352vegaskniteMemberIf you have read the links I left above do you still believe that the US government is persuing off shore sport books for ilegal acceptance of bets from the US because of organized crime involvement or to Hurt Costa Rica. I for one believe it has everything to do with organized crime and the money it generates and launders through off shore book making. But I am only going on the information I know both first hand and from reading facts. If I were an attorney at this juncture I would say I rest my case. And I do rest the case.
