I found the following article interesting…

April 29, 2009 at 10:56 pm #196141AndrewKeymasterI read Dr. Mercola’s article this morning – Isn’t it great that during the last big swine flu ‘pandemic’ that the vaccine killed more people than the actual swine flu!
The wonders of modern day medicine eh?
An American living in the USA has a much higher chance of dying due to a lightning strike than because of swine flu!
But hey! Let’s not let trivial facts like this interfere with the drug companies ability to make a couple of hundred billion more dollars eh?

A member of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has dismissed claims that more than 150 people have died from swine flu, saying it has officially recorded only seven deaths around the world.
Vivienne Allan, from WHO’s patient safety program, said the body had confirmed that worldwide there had been just seven deaths – all in Mexico – and 79 confirmed cases of the disease.
Unfortunately that [150-plus deaths] is incorrect information and it does happen, but that’s not information that’s come from the World Health Organisation,” Ms Allan told ABC Radio today.
“That figure is not a figure that’s come from the World Health Organisation and, I repeat, the death toll is seven and they are all from Mexico.”
Ms Allan said WHO had confirmed 40 cases of swine flu in the Americas, 26 in Mexico, six in Canada, two in Spain, two in Britain and three in New Zealand.
Ms Allan said it was difficult to measure how fast the virus was spreading.
She said a real concern would be if the flu virus manifested in a country where a person had had no contact with Mexico, and authorities were watching all countries for signs of that.
“There is no pattern that has emerged at this stage to be able to say that it is spreading in a particular way or it is spreading into a particular country … the situation is continuing to evolve,” she said.
She said the WHO was not recommending against overseas travel, but urged those who felt sick to stay home and others to ensure they kept their hands clean.
No decision had yet been made about vaccinations.
“This virus is not airborne, it’s caused by droplets … so it’s not a time for worry. It’s a time to be prepared,” Ms Allan said.

Unfortunately, for entire societies, there is no in between ground when it comes to these lies. Societies in general either believe or do not believe…in the whole. Governments and corporations either lie all the time or never. Their motives are suspect, or they are not.As individuals, we do have a middle ground. We each develop our own world views and biases which color how we deal with news like the current pandemic potential. How much of that world view bias should be applied to the decision to reject, accept or question news reports is what is at issue here. I choose the latter in this instance since I don’t have enough informtion to either accept or reject.

The big question is… why did he throw another $1,500,000,000 at this “problem” if it’s all a lie?
Washing ton is completely out of control these days… BILLIONS are tossed around like the zeros don’t count!
I did get a good laugh when the issue of closing the border with Mexico was brought up… like there’s even a CHANCE they’d ever be able to do that!

May 1, 2009 at 2:23 am #196145AndrewKeymasterBut as we all know – zeros do count ….
In the 1980’s when I was working on Wall Street at Drexel Burnham Lambert, my manager used to say:
Q: “What’s the difference between a $100,000 investment and a $1,000,000 investment?
A: “Zero! ……………………………. The number of zeros after the #1.”
Zeros do count and at some stage in the not so distant future – unless the USA manages to fabricate yet another massive distraction – the piper will have to be paid.

Outbreak in Mexico May Be Smaller Than Feared
The swine flu outbreak in Mexico may be considerably smaller than originally feared, test results released there on Friday indicate. Mexico had reported about 2,500 suspected cases as of Friday, but the number of real cases could turn out to be less than half the suspected number if further testing follows the same pattern as the original round. That’s a terrible number of affected people. However, should the media be allowed to scare the life out of the gullible consumers by publishing erroneous opinions? May 2, 2009 at 7:25 pm #196148ImxploringParticipantIt’s really starting to look like last year’s Taco Bell food scare was more of a threat than the swine flu! Somebody is getting rich of this latest churn… it’s sad to say… but you really can’t trust any source these days… be it government or the media!
