Who on this board has done this? I know the procedure for bringing my dog into the country, but what are the rules about taking it out and back into the States. My husband wants to bring our dog with him next month for two weeks and the dog goes in the cabin with us so there isn’t a problem about crating. If anyone has the info on this procedure, please tell me, or who do I call in the States to find out? Grazie.
I was just going to ask the same question.I was also wondering if they have a dog containment system like “Invisible Fence”
Please contact Dr. Adrian Molina who will be happy to give you all the up to date requirements to get your pets in and out of Costa Rica.
It’s my undersstanding that it’s fairly simple as long as you have someone who knows exactly what they are doing and you have all the necessary paperwork from both your US veterinarian and your Costa Rican veterinarian.
You can see Dr. Molina’s contact information at the bottom of this article at
You would be best telephoning them …

Thanks for the information, especially the link to the US Customs rules. Now I have to figure out the logistics of getting the dog vaccinated for rabies within the time frame for taking him into Costa Rica and then out again a few weeks later.
