So I hear that some attorneys base their fees on the actual price and others base their fees on the price registered in the National Registry. A Tico attorney says that Ticos always pay according to the registered (low) price. And, that forigners who pay according to the actual price are being gouged.
What say you?
Don’t think you’re hearing it right?
I don’t know of any attorney in Costa Rica that would prefer to be paid his % based on the lowest possible $ amount rather than the sales price.

Do you think Ticos pay Tico attorneys according to the real priced paid? I think there has to ba a happy medium.
Maybe they do not want to be paid a percentage of $4,000 but with houses selling for $200,000 I think $2,500 to register your sale is excessive.
Is not there a middle ground?
