I have been monitoring another Costa Rica blog site and there has been a discussion about the government getting tough on developers. The blog states the the government is “cracking down on developments especially developments in the form of “parcelas agriocolas”. What is the difference between developments as parcelas agricolas and developments as lotes en condominio? Are there any advantages to buying in one or the other. Is the government really getting tough.
Yes the government is getting tougher – and it’s about bloody time!
I am not an attorney but if I understand it correctly it has been much easier to get permits to start developing on 5,000M2 plots than developing a condominiums but as usual, people take advantage.
