I have about four boxes of books (English only) that I have read and unfortunately no longer have the space for. I know there are used book dealers here in Costa Rica but now cannot find out where they are…
Where are the used book dealers?
Downtown San Jose. They come and go though. If you walk into the Gran Hotel Costa Rica next to the National Theater they can probably tell you.
also there is a used book shop in Manuel Antonio called Buena Nota and one in Jaco in a small courtyard mall near a Mexican Joes internet center.
There is a relatively large used book store in Alajuelah, I think it is on Ave 3, between Calle 1 and 3. (Ask at the Coffee Dreams restaurant which is 100 mtrs left of the cathederal dome). My husband and I are moving to San Ramon in March and are hoping to start a book store in San Ramon, so if you want to hang on to those books and are close to San Ramon, we would be interested in buying them. Also in San Ramon there is a used book store and internet cafe called “Solo Bueno” with a relatively good selection of books – around a 1000 or so? They have a website; you could check them out.
There was a book store in Grecia with a limited inventory, but it went out of business last fall. There are quite a few Gringos moving to that area; I think it would be an excellent place to open a book store if you had a good inventory, fair prices, and a relaxing atmosphere – coffee, perhaps, and comfortable, inviting chairs, and so on.
