Hello All,
A friend of mine heard that you can go to the immigration office in Liberia and pay to have your passport stamped. Anyone else hear those rumors or know anything about it. Only thing I can find is if you are from certain countries and are here on a 30-60 day visa you can ask to have that renewed for 90 but nothing on 90 day renewals. Thanks !

If you have a 90 day tourist visa, you are required to leave the country…but you are not guaranteed to be given another 90 days. If you do don’t have a Costs Rican drivers license, you will have to do this anyway, if you want to be able to continue driving here.
If you have the 30 day visa, you can it ‘renewed’ twice.

I also heard the story about the office in Liberia. We were going to do it, then I heard that you need to apply for the extension 20 days prior to the expiration of your current visa. I think its worth checking out, but, since my visa expired in 8 days, I took a trip to Nicaragua. The Nicaragua trip was fairly easy; I went through Los Chiles. The boat ride was lovely.

Thank you for your response. I understand that part, was just wondering if anything recently has changed with the office in Liberia on the 90 day visa’s that my friend heard rumors on.

Sounds like its something to at least look further into, like you said. Thanks ! Never been to Los Chiles yet, maybe we will give it a try.
