Jim and I plan to make a visa run to Grenada some time this month. We want to go by bus but don’t know the best way to get from Atenas to San Jose to Grenada. Do we buy a round-trip ticket and where? We know there are
Ticobusses and Nicabusses, but which is best and has a reasonable schedule. I looked up the Ticobus executive schedule and it said it departed San Jose at 3 AM….probably not our best option. As you can see, we need help!
Both Ticabus and Nicabus have an office in San Jose, call them for exact time. I believe there is a bus that departs from San Jose in the morning and arrives in Granada before dark. Taking one of these buses is the easiest and best way to get to Nicaragua, although not the cheapest. Best to purchase a round trip ticket as I have experienced the return bus selling out during holidays and certain weekends.
