Here in the US I use a top mattress and a bottom box spring. In Costa Rica seem to be only the top in many places. What say?

No box springs in CR… just be sure if you have your beds custom made that they adjust for the proper height. I really don’t find myself missing the box spring…. nor the cost! Be sure you purchase a good mattress which should be easy since you’ll be skipping the cost of the box spring.
Jiron is the best known mattress store in Costa Rica. They have stores all over the central valley and probably in some towns on the coasts as well. They have box springs too.
