Happy New Year to Scott and everyone on the forum – may it be a good one.
In March we will be moving to our temporary “Bodega” house, (a small temporary home that will become the bodega once we build our house), since the floors are going to be concrete, area rugs are going to be important to our comfort. In our travels I haven’t seen many rugs – are they available at reasonable cost? If so where?
As always your input is greatly appreciated.
Ruth
You haven’t said where in Costa Rica you will be located, but the Cemaco stores in and around San Jose are a source of area rugs. I’d particularly look at the Cemaco near Hipermas and across the road from Importadora Monge Max in (I think) San Pedro or thereabouts. It seems to be Cemaco’s largest store.
Prices . . . ?
David,
You always come to my rescue, thanks.
Cemaco stores are a new one to me but I am sure I can find them. We will actually be in the Tilaran area but plan various shopping trip to San Jose to outfit the house. We are still used enough to driving California distances that a trip to San Jose isn’t bad (as long as we park on the outskirts of the city and use the taxis for transport!)
Thanks again and HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Ruth
Hey, we do what we can.
It also occurred to me that the EPA stores in Escazu and San Pedro might be sources. We weren’t really rug shopping at the time, but it seems to me that we might have seen some area rugs there, too.
