    Is there any way to get a new windshield for a car without going to San Jose?

    Contact a local body shop, for a replacement.

    Trying to be non-obnoxious (hard thing to do)
    Where are you ? If you’re in Guanacaste go to Canas and ask for the taller de Hymie.
    If you’re near San Carlos ask anyone for Chino ( de Varela-Torrez). These 2 are problem solvers. Bring some Spanish with you.
