I would also read Chris Howard’s book and Phil Baker’s Costa Rica Now which covers the differnt regions of Costa Rica and has a section on the culture and a section on real estate rules. Both books are around 500 pages. Both are on the web.

Prisma Dental (Rubenstien) has been said to tack on alot of extras that are not really needed (like dental guards). They also push for full restorations which include crowning healthy teeth to match the color of the new implants or crowns they are installing. Be careful that you don’t end up with a whole mouth full of new crowns when you may have only wanted an implant or two.

Can you tell me more. Like how much did it cost? I recently drove one for abput 20 minutes and was impressed with the overall tightness of the vehicle. It seems well made.

Probably not. I mean you bought the property and it’s a done deal. Did you recive a certifeid copy of the title with the right name on it (yours or your company’s).

The deal is you have to make sure you have a contract with your caretaker. Go to an attorney and have them notarize your caretakers signature on a contract. I have a trick I use if the caretaker does not want to join the Caja. I can tell you off site only. But, I do reccomend you join your caretaker in participating with the Caja.

It ligitimizes his stay on your property as work only, and it protects you from an injury clain. That Caja offers PI insurance (workmens comp), so if there is an injury you are covered.

I have no idea why you write “its not reforestation.”

By the common definition it most certainly is.

Maybe you would like to enlighten us as to how else one can obtain immeadiate permanent residency and work at any job?

I am all ears…. or should I say “eyes.”

It’s generating a mono culture which is typically considered reforestation. Its is not creating a secondary forest. I suppose you would perfer deforested pasture land instead? It’s not a perfect deal, but what is? And if you continue to look at its imperfections, I am sure you will find some – just like anything else.

I have one question for you guys who are putting the pencil to this “land deal.” How else are you going to legaly get immeadiate permanent residency in Costa Rica that allows you to work at any job? I doubt if the doubting Thomases can ansewer this one.

The point is you are buying immeadiate permanent residency as much as buying the land.

Nobody is insinuating that this is land to live on… It a hec in the middle of a teak plantation. In years it should pay for itself and more.

    There is no misdirection here.

I guess you could alwyas spend $250K and do it yourself on your land with electric and whatever, but without the “pre-approved” part, you only recievce probationary residency under the permanent resident catagory. Not permanent residency.

You still have to wait three years to have the status adjusted to permanent.

    Its not IMMEADIATE PERMANENT RESIDECY…

    Did that penitrate?

You have not seen your property? As you indicated “somewhere.”

Do you have a caretaker? If not, you could be esaily asking for trouble. Orosi is still semi-remote. An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure.

Crime is most prevelent in San Jose and its suburbs. Now its spreading to the highland regions. Still not as bad as the city and subs.

By all the books you can on the subject of Costa Rica. What books do you have?

Both Panama and CR require 100k. In Panama they will finace 60K of the 100K – But of course in panama you woulds have to live in Panama! Not to my liking….

Pre-approved m eans that the Government has concluded that enough money and effort and time has been spent in & on our plantation to warrant an individual’s financial participation. No Government review board such as MINAE (El Ministerio del Ambiente y Energia) need look and evaluate the individual investor application. Application goes directly to Immigration complete with the proper paperwork to be submitted (see attachments) the investor is guaranteed their status. They receive their “cedula” which is in effect their internal identification card.

Non-restrictive means that the individual with his or her cedula received through our program is not restricted to working in the reforestation industry. They can work, if they so desire, in any field of their choice. For an example a number of real estate sales people have obtained their non-restrictive investor status and then work in their chosen field. The investor has the same rights as a natural born Costa Rican.

In fact the pre-approved, non-restrictive status gives you all the rights of a Costa Rica citizen except voting. You can not get involved politically.

A number of applicant have no intention of working here in Costa Rica but just like the fact that with the investment made there is no additional annual proof of funds or proof of conversion of funds as required by the other status nor is there an requirement to spend 3 months a year here in the country. With the status that we promote the individual needs only to be here once a year to renew the status. ( law actually reads, once a year for the first 5 years and then once every 2 years for 5 years and then once every 5 years)

An additional benefit to a status through our project is that the investment allows for the applicant, spouse and children under the age of 18, to enjoy all the benefits.

The second aspect or benefit of participation is the investment fact that they receive title to the 1 hectare (2.47 acres) of land, the 1,100 teak trees (the number of trees at time of planting) and the maintenance contract ensuring that the trees are maintained to the established high standards of the government licensed forestry engineers. As owner of the land and the teak trees the asset is yours and only yours. When harvest time arrives, approximately 7-8 years from now, the proceeds of the harvest is yours. It is your choice if you want to participate in the second crop or want to sell the land or for that matter your choice if you decide not to cut the trees and to keep the trees growing for future larger returns. We include literature from Dr. Raymond Keough in the attachment which indicates how many cubic meters of wood a person can expect from his or her hectare of land. We use 15 cubic meters per year per hectare for our projections. Thus a 20 year cycle will have available 15 x 1 x 20 years = 300 cubic meters of wood. The value of the teak at harvest time.

The contatc I have for this program is Kevin and his email is crnow@ yahoo .com
There you go… I just did your homework for you .. Do I get a prize or gold star???? (LOL).
