Jajajajajajajaja:twisted:
2bncrMemberJajajaja regardless of what he loves (and when), HE IS NOT A REALTOR!!!! The term realtor, is not something he has earned or has the right to use. I know you get it and I know you are a funny guy! And a stubborn as a mule! Even when you are wrong!!! Jajaja
Oh I liked the grumpy old man thing as well. gee, who would that be? Is he a Realtor too,,, jajajaja. We are all Realtors right. Its a Realtor world.
Two Realtors walk into a bar… One Realtor says to a Gladiator….
Good night
2bncrMemberDennis the Realtor Easter!
jajajaja
“All of our Recommended Realtors LOVE
living in Costa Rica.”So much for accuracy eh?
2bncrMemberYeh Bill and not only when they fly but when they fly right and do not need an international airport in the Osa to dock their pink parkas..
Maybe Daveed has some insight on flying pigs clad in pink parkas as well/ Lets hope it’s a bit more realistic than the OSA airport spiel,,, LOL
Will Frankie meet Daveed? Stay tuned….
2bncrMemberA Frakie or a Benji (Benjamin Franklin), is a $100 bill.
No you don’t win anything because you agree with me. So why do you allow this shameless spin style marketing on your site. Now will Daveed and his boys take me up on my bet is the question. If not why the sales spin? Put your money where your mouth is Daveed…
I think it has a negative affect on your marketing… hell but what do I know anyways…
2bncrMemberDaveed mentions the “international Airport” twice in his sales spiel.
The problem with people like me that know truth from sales hype (was that nice enough?) is that those that spin eventually lose street credit.
“Primeros pasos. Por ahora, hablar de plazos depende de una bolita mágica, bromeó Luis Carlos Araya; sin embargo, el funcionario aspira a que, al menos, la pista de aterrizaje esté lista en el 2014.”
“Getting Started. For now, talk of deadlines depends on a magic bill, Luis Carlos Araya joked, however, the official hopes that at least the runway is ready in 2014.”
That hardly says “that the landing strip will be ready for 2014”
Its say that if there is a magic bill (jajajaja) passed they hope at least the landing strip would be ready in 2014.
Yeah well I hope the CR government drop a 300 pound gold santa claus on my ranch for Christmas 2014
Daveed I got a Frankie that says their will be no International airport serving destinations outside of Central America by the end of 2014… anybody else want to take me up on this bet?
Scott? Anyone?
2bncrMemberPharg – the operative word here is Costa Rica!!!!!!!!!!!!!
People do things much more bizarre than this and it works… If you want it, really want it, it is much easier to find a way to make it happen here than in Florida.
I don’t think, as far as Costa Rica goes, that its such a bad idea. It could work. You’d be amazed with what people get away with here…
Can you say “presidents” or “squatters” or “speeders” etc etc
2bncrMemberAll you have stated above has merit.
However it has nothing to do with my specific points.
Good luck and I wish you continued success! Dennis too!
2bncrMemberComon you guys,, Am I really not making sense? Look first of all in Dennis case its a commercial application, in my case its a nickname given to me because when I played in a band as a kid i often wore doctors scrubs from a hospital I worked at part time paying my way through college. I didn’t have time to change so I showed up at the gigs in scrubs. They started calling me Doc or Doctor. The name stuck.
Now that has nothing to do with infringing on trademarks and marketing services. You don’t see me offering medical advice do you?
So I realize I am unpopular on this topic because I am trying to keep people honest, and accurate, but now you are really reaching…
Why don’t you try retorting my points rather than attacking my honesty.
2bncrMemberWell you are most welcome Dennis…
And did you find it interesting that on this site there actually might be professionals who know about real estate law, ethics and sales?
“It would only make sense to be a member of NAR if I were currently practicing real estate in the United States, which I am not. I have never stated that I was a member of NAR but I have called myself a REALTOR. Now having the facts in place, I will be happy to refer to myself as a Real Estate Sales Associate and owner of Pure Life Development. Now I have the daunting task of educating 99% of the population that I am not a REALTOR, that we are all misinformed.”
Hi Dennis – this is the guy you and Scott and obviously David believe to be a nitpicker. Do you want to live with someone who is a nitpicker? Jajaja – probally not. Now, do you want someone executing your real estate transaction that is a nitpicker. I do.
I really want to stop all this and if people would simply own up to the truth of it all I would stop, but my God. First the David spin and now the Dennis spins. I am sorry but it’s like the Winchel Mahoney Show featuring Jerry Mahoney and Knuckle Head Smith…
“It would only make sense to be a member of NAR if I were currently practicing real estate in the United States, which I am not.”
If this line of logic is correct, than why (as you have stated) are you maintaining your license in Florida? Following your logic, if the rules of the Florida RE association and the NAR are similar, why the need to keep the Florida license or belong to the NAR, – because you sell real estate in Costa Rica. You tout one and poo poo the other but neither pertain to selling real estate here. According to your logic, neither is applicable to Costa Rica. Is this pretzel logic or just spinning an excuse after being exposed as less than accurate/truthful – you pick.
This one is my favorite –
“I have never stated that I was a member of NAR but I have called myself a REALTOR.”
Jajajajaja – Saying that you are a Realtor is stating that you are a member of the NAR!
“Now I have the daunting task of educating 99% of the population that I am not a REALTOR, that we are all misinformed.”
You were misinformed? Why? Did they tell you that you were a Realtor in real estate school? I think maybe uninformed might be the better word. In addition, we, exactly whom is “we?” You and the Costa Rican frog in your pocket that secretes a venom causing forgetfulness?
I am not misinformed/uninformed and I would say beside Dennis, 99% of the people I have dealt with in more than a couple of US real estate transactions darn well know the difference between a sales agent and a Realtor.
At least Scott’s argument that it really makes little difference, has some merit. He did not point out that he was unaware that a sales agent is not a Realtor. I find it hard to believe that anyone in the business does not know the difference. To retort, having membership in the NAR signifies that there have been no actions taken against you to revoke membership.
Also Dennis the sales agent, the NAR holds you to its ethical standards on any transaction you partake in worldwide! I don’t believe the state of Florida holds you to their code of ethics outside the state of Florida.
Now the general public may not know the difference between a sales agent and a Realtor, however it’s not the general public in the US that is brokering property. Here in Costa Rica any moron can sell real estate (and frequently do) and make a hell of a mess out of it as well.
My point? Astute buyers should not and do not rely on the public to execute a real estate transaction. They depend on licensed agents, and therefore they are assured by passing the licensing, that an at least basically educated individual is handling contracts that are usually at least in the hundreds of thousands of dollars range.
So you want to make sure that person is educated. Well-educated real estate licensees, the majority that I have met, all know the difference between a sales agent and a Realtor, except Dennis (and maybe his frog as well) who “forgot.”
Implausible to me at best.. who knows..
Lastly, there is this:
“we are members of the ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS IN COSTA RICA and we have completed their coursework, which is very similar to real estate courses in the United States.”
You said your partner is a member. “We” implies you and him (or are you referring to the mind numbing frog again?). If you are not a member than obviously you did not complete the coursework. We are talking about you Dennis, not your partner and I believe the article implies you are speaking about yourself in general.
This is the kind of stuff that provokes people like me that just can’t stand people who try to wiggle out of the truth with more misinformation and between the lines blur.
Why don’t you just say that, Hey, the ball busting guy is right. I said I am a Realtor. I’m not. I implied I took coursework for this, I didn’t, my partner did though, etc, and thus put an end to it. You have not learned from Clinton or Nixon that the cover-up is worse than the offense…
Ok Dennis, How about a David “honey-do list” request:
Show us your stuff since you want to impress upon us your real estate prowess. How about something interesting like contrasting and comparing the disclosure laws in the US and Costa Rica.
Toodles!
The Ball Buster
jajaja
2bncrMemberSpin it any way you want David… its still dishonest to call yourself what you aint and lead people to believe through vague writing that you are what you aint, I suppose you condone all that. So if you feel better about it and you point (or lack of one) feel free to indulge in you righteousness.
And what if there are no repercussion does that make it right. No it only shows that you go along with my prior assertions, of course the ones you strongly denied…
Can you spell hypocrite? Now look it up and post it, Or maybe you are a fraud and not really a man and maybe that picture you have up here is of an ugly woman.
Hey who knows, I along with Dennis and David the spin master can spin too.
Bye David…. and nice try… Have fun turning circles…
PS….
‘Because there is one organization of Realtors here in Costa Rica does not preclude the possibility that there could be more.’
and just because there are two human genders in Costa Rica does not preclude the possibility there could be more.
That is like an eight year old’s argument.. Buffoonery comes to mind…
2bncrMemberWell David you piqued my curiosity and no Dennis Easters is not currently a Realtor.
Any member of of the CRGAR (Costa Rica Global Association of realtors) that is not in current standing with the NAR does not have the right to use the term Realtor.
There are currently 88 licensed realtors in Costa Rica according to the NAR website.
According to Bruno Crosby of The NAR the CRAGR is an affiliate organization that is there to protect the usage of the trademarked Realtor name.
Any CRAGR member that is not a member of the NAR is not a Realtor.
From Scott’s site…
“Costa Rica Realtor in Atenas. Dennis Easters is an experienced U.S. Realtor”
According to Dennis Easters:
“I have been a licensed Realtor in Florida for many years and, even though licensing does not yet exist in Costa Rica, we are members of the ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS IN COSTA RICA and we have completed their coursework, which is very similar to real estate courses in the United States.”
Association of realtors??? Exactly what is that?
Does he mean the CRAGR – of which he is NOT a member
Or
The CCCBR – of which he does NOT appear to be a member
Or
The NAR – of which Bruno assured me he certainly is NOT a member….
Should have let sleeping dogs lie on this one David.
2bncrMemberJajajaj very funny David.
Why would I concern myself with doing your work to prove your cherished rightness?
I am merely saying anyone who does not belong to the NAR has no right to use it.
Can I make it more simple that that.
Its you that wishes to have a battle of consequences blah blah this and that.
Simple honesty David, is that hard for you to comprehend? If you have not earned and paid for the right to use the name than don’t use it. It’s other peoples property. Its intellectual property theft.
Now David go look up intellectual property rights and post proof to me that you know what it is….
What a piece of work you are my man… jajajajaja
You have your homework and I expect there be no spelling errors if you want your gold star… now run along and get to work… Now was that equally condescending enough for you??? If it was show me proof! jajajaja…
yeah right,,, like I need to prove that simple honesty is the right way to behave…
2bncrMember“Here in Costa Rica, if I advertised myself or my German shepherd as a Realtor, and if one of us violated the Code of Ethics, I’ll bet a cheap lunch that nothing whatsoever would ever (ever) be done about it — not by anybody here and not by anybody in the States.”
Cool David. So you are saying you can be dishonest and not be caught. Wow, I really respect you for that… I am sure mom would be proud… 😳
“Can you cite just one instance of such an enforcement action in regard to a breach here in Costa Rica?”
Well because there are virtually no Realtors here it would be hard to find a case where one has been disciplined. Second, I have no desire to waste my time proving you wrong or me right.
Yes, many do join for the privilege of using the MLS but your way of thinking, (it’s for greed only and everybody is greedy so it’s ok for me to be greedy) is part of the problem rather than the solution. Its justifying bad behavior by siting bad behavior. Bill O’Riely would be shaking his head at you now… Jajajaja
This is a question of honesty. Integrity.
Why should you or Scott act in a dishonest way basically by using a trademarked name to which he has no rights. Scott says he has Realtors working with him. That is like saying I have Coca Cola salesmen selling my soft drinks. It just is not true.
So the real question we must ask is how important is the truth to you? ❓
To Scott?
It’s of the utmost importance to me and is the foundation of my self definition. There is strength in truth. Anything else has structural weakness. Personally, I will go with the truth. And it’s so funny that being truthful in this case is not doing anything more. It’s a case of not doing: Writing sales agent instead of Realtor. Huge sacrifice for the sake of honesty eh? 😕
2bncrMemberSure it has become as you said but only to the uninformed and out of the business types.
A big thing that you fail to realize is those that have attained the status or REALTOR would not agree that their effort was in vain and more importantly Realtor are held to a higher ethical standard no matter where they practice and no matter where or what property they sell – even in toothless lawed Costa Rica. If a Realtor adds money to the sales price or takes boot (under the table payments) he can lose the designation of Realtor.
What is right is right and if you choose to poo poo it that’s you decision but that does not make your attituse ACCURATE… Jajaja
Just because I don’t take the effort that goes into making toilet paper seriously, that does not mean that the buyers fro Costco don’t take it seriously.
I think your argument is lame because you want to perpetuate the incorrect staus quo.
That shows laxness on your part.
Many people may still refer to spas as a Jacuzzi – but no that often any more. Why because its inaccurate.
But some people do not value accuracy and it seems the longer you have been in Costa Rica the less international trade marks and accuracy matters..
