Rf2cr, I explained it wrong. The name “Terracan” will go out of production, but they will recreate the concept in 2009. The Veracruz is an SUV, unibody, 260 HP, 3.8 liter DOHC V6, 6 speed automatic and with lots of premium amenities such as xenon lights, leather interior, CD changer, ABS brake system, etc. Check it out for yourself at: http://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicle/veracruz/veracruz.aspx. On the Hyundai website they show that according to Motor Trend Magazine, the Hyundai Veracruz beat the Lexus RX350 in their tests, here’s the link: http://www.hyundaiusa.com/images/asset_upload_file21_15739.pdf. If you visit the Hyundai dealerships in Costa Rica they already have them available in their showrooms. Watch out Toyota and Nissan, Hyundai is coming fast at your heels!!!!

Grupo Q L&S sells used cars as well so there is a chance that you might find a very good Isuzu truck or SUV at their used car lot. If you are looking for used cars and speak spanish, then try http://www.economicos.com or http://www.crautos.com. As far as Hyundai, they still sell the Hyundai Terracan and the Santa Fe is not the replacement for this car. The Hyundai Veracruz is the newest vehicle from Hyundai but it won’t replace the Terracan either. The Hyundai Terracan will be upgraded in 2009 and they will continue production of this model for many years to come. I would purchase an Isuzu D-Max which is the new version of the Isuzu KB pick-up truck. Toyota and Nissan cars are very expensive in Costa Rica so be prepared to commit to a heavy investment. I believe that Toyota, Nissan and Hyundai are the most reliable though.

This took me less than 5 mins: http://www.lys.co.cr/v2/acerca_sucursal.htm. The Isuzu dealership in liberia is Grupo Q L&S. It is located about 300 meters west of the Burger King restaurant going towards the Airport. The link has address, phone and fax numbers.

My friend just bought a property in Colorado de Abangares and he said that his property is located next to WWLI’s property and that the local people of Abangares are commenting about the sale of this property. Perhaps it’s just speculation, but it’s definietly something to look into considering WWLI’s past and having invested with them. Calling them and asking them if they sold the property is not a very reliable source as they have been known to commit fraud.

Mannx, if you are so convinced about your investment with them, why do you even ask for our opinion about WWLI? We’re just trying to give you our input from what we know of the local market and what we have heard on the media from them.

Wow, now I’m an attorney!!! Thanks Diego!

I’m into real estate and a business manager, not an attorney. Perhaps a representative from Stewart Title could answer your questions about escrow accounts, insurance policies and the EAFC.

I heard rumors that WLI just sold their entire property in Colorado de Abangares so this could get nasty if they make a run with everyone’s money.

The only organized sailing event I can think of is the Regatta Papagayo in the Gulf of Papagayo, Guanacaste. Here’s the link: http://www.regattapapagayo.org. I know a guy in Playas del Coco called YANN, he is the captain of a boat called Kuna Vela and he is a very experienced sailor and has been in Costa Rica for many years. He would tell you all you need to know so here’s his website: http://www.kunava.com. We have a 44′ CSY sailboat in our Resort in Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste but it’s more of a cruising vessel, not a lean mean racing machine and we use it to tour our VIP clients. First year at the Regatta Papagayo we had 15 sailboats and it was a lot of fun but more of a social event. This year we had 25 boats in the competiton and it was a lot more competitive. This event will definitely become a sensation in the future. Join us in 2008!

I live up here in Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste in the Gulf of Papagayo and is very dry and hot right now. It has only rained a few times but the veranillo is definitely here. This area is the hottest and driest of the country.

The best nutritionists in Costa Rica are Larissa Paez and Kathryn Von Saalfeld. Larissa Paez is the most popular one and she has her own line of healthy food products that are sold in Automercado and she has done extensive work with many of the best restaurants in the country. Kathryn Von Saalfeld has been in many television programs and is extremely good and professional. I couldn’t find Larissa’s contact info but here’s Kathryn’s:

Dkharlan, driving from Ocotal to Turrialba is not a great idea as you will be driving for almost 6-7 hours depending on traffic. My advice is to aim to drive from Ocotal to La Fortuna de San Carlos which is about 2 hours or less away and will provide you with that rainforest environment. Ocotal is on the Pacific side and Turrialba is closer to the Caribbean so considering that it’s your first time driving in Costa Rica it’s not such a great idea. Go and check out Arenal Volcano.

Mannx, did you read the article on AM Costa Rica in the link I provided? It clearly says that WLI is “selling” ocean view lots on land on the east coast of the Gulf of Nicoya near the settlment of Colorado de Abangares. This is north of Puntarenas and south of the location of the friendship bridge, the Puente de la Amistad de Taiwan, over the rio Tempisque. One of their websites says that the property is just south of the Four Seasons Hotel when this hotel is actually located about 200 kilometers away in the province of Guanacaste. Jaime Ligator was arrested for fraud charges and he is the president of WLI.

What makes you think that you are in good hands? Hire an attorney and protect your investment.

Yes, we have heard of them…not good things of course. Jaime Ligator, President of Worldwide Land Investments, was recently arrested for U.S. fraud charges. Please check out this link for more information: http://www.amcostarica.com/052107.htm.

Did you happen to purchase real estate from them? If so, hire a lawyer ASAP!!!!

123456789, I don’t have a problem with competition. I have a problem with illegal residents working in my country. All of those that are legal residents I welcome, I just hate that nowadays any tourist stays in Costa Rica and starts selling real estate.
