Alrightey then… Count me in for one of those Bill and definitely count me in for the recipe and instructions for your “Pork Butt.”

Having said that, I think we need to give it a more Tico like name no? Maybe “Nalgitas Ricas?”

    Bill

I’m in the middle of moving (tenth time in ten years) and opening up a new office and have so much on my plate I can’t think at the moment but, my mouth is watering so I guess I need to listen to my instincts and as – is there a website address where I could take a look at this smoker?

That may work for you but if you don’t get approval from the other two, you will lose your option money.

An alternative plan ‘B’ might be to consider signing a formal agreement to buy the property (and close at a date in the future which would be the same length of time as the option might have been) but include a well written contingency that states that this purchase is contingent upon you and your partners obtaining financing and getting a full title search done (or whatever it is) and that if this does not go ahead as planned then your deposit monies would have to be returned to you.

You may have to pay a larger deposit with plan ‘B’ but, you would be assured of getting it back if things fall through.

    Wouldn’t that work Bill?

It’s NOT in Jaco and it’s NOT on the beach but it is near Jaco and is definitely elegant, romantic and truly magnificent.

    Villas Caletas

But, this place is in demand so you will need to book FAST.

Jenny owns a B&B and can NOT give you or anyone else legal advice.

You need EXPERT legal advice ‘Nasser’ – PLEASE don’t try and cut corners with this because you could end up with a VERY expensive “learning experience.”

As GringoTico pointed out “the fact that you don’t even understand the sales pitch is a strong indicator that you’re in way over your head.”

We do not meant to be rude with our comments but we’ve all seen too many people make mistakes that they would not have made if they had just spent a few extra bucks getting EXPERT legal advice.

There’s one question I would like you to clarify if you could please…

I was told that bringing horses to Costa Rica was not too complicated BUT, taking them back to the USA was VERY complicated.

Is that true? If so, could you please tell us why?

I would STRONGLY encourage you to hire a qualified and very experienced Costa Rican attorney to help you with this, this is NOT a simple matter that will be resolved in a Discussion Forum.

This is a topic that I am very intersted in and have spent some time looking at their website which is at:

They have admitted to being too busy to keep their site up to date but it looks very intersting.

For my own education, I’ve just ordered four different books about earthbag construction from Amazon.

I had lunch today with an American friend who’s best buddy flew from New Mexico to North Carolina a few months ago with his Glock tucked away nicely in his laptop bag…

He had totally forgotten that the Glock was there and when he arrived in NC and opened his laptop, the poor guy nearly had a heart attack when his Glock slid out…

Good to know that they find small packets of matches in San Jose but not so good to see that they fail to find loaded Glocks on domestic US flights.

Yeah! Right … We have no new information about this… The two articles we have on the site are self explanatory.

Costa Rica’s Invisible New International Airport (??)

Costa Rica’s New International Airport to be Built in the Sierpe Valley – Maybe…

I emailed my friend Sr. Federico Carrillo Zurcher who, at the time was the Costa Rica Minister Of Finance. Federico has been good to me and was kind enough to write the introductions to both of my books: How To Buy Costa Rica Real Estate Without Losing Your Camisa as well as my first book, Costa Rica’s Guide To Making Money Offshore in Bull and Bear Markets.

Apart from being the Minister of Finance at the time, Sr. Federico Carrillo is a trained private pilot, who has been involved in the negotiations regarding the San Jose airport renovations with Alterra Partners and is on the board of the Consejo Tecnico de Aviacion so he has a very good idea of what’s going on this country when it comes to aviation matters.

This is what Federico said to me in his email of 1st September 2005:

“An additional international airport in Costa Rica is not a priority at this time. Our first priority is upgrading the San Jose airport and the Liberia airport. We then plan to develop a new airport in the south west (around Golfito) and after that, if the studies show that the demand is there and the budgets are available, we could look at another airport around the Orotina area – maybe in 15-20 years.” Sr. Federico Carrillo Zurcher, Costa Rica – Ministro de Hacienda.

Now if you really feel comfortable basing your real estate investment decisions on something that the Costa Ricans have been talking about for 30 years which still hasn’t happened.., something that the Costa Rican Minister of Finance says might happen if “the demand is there and the budgets are available” in another 15-20 years – go for it! But please remember!

You would NOT be investing in real estate, you would be speculating!
