Nicole moved into the house next door to some very dear friends of mine a few years ago in Escazu.

They were forced to move house because she refused to do anything about preventing her seven dogs from barking ALL DAY LONG.

If that’s how she treats her neighbours, I really don’t care how she treats her clients. She will NOT be recommended on this site and her details will be deleted.

PS. OK! I confess! When I mentioned “dear friends,” I was referring to myself and my girlfriend…

I don’t actually see any “crap” at all and having read many of Mr. William Blum’s books myself, can assure you that William Blum does not entertain “conspiracy theories” but does check his facts and figures carefully before “slamming the US.”

All of our VIP Members are entitled to their opinion no matter how distasteful those opinions might be to others however as suggested, I will investigate how we might create a separate forum for ‘hot topics.’

Jees! I would respectfully request ‘bradbard’ that you might consider abbreviating your postings somewhat.

You know hold the record for the longest posting and I would prefer it if nobody (including you) tried to break your record.

You might want to see my article about ‘Costa Rica Attorney Black List’ at and in that article you will find the links to the attorneys association where you can search and see if a specific attorney has had problems

    Best wishes

I read a book again recently that I had not read for about 30 years and in reading it again today, some of the quotes are more terrifying than ever:

“In other words it is necessary he should have the mentality appropriate to a state of war. It does not matter whether the war is actually happening, and, since no decisive victory is possible, it does not matter whether the war is going well or badly. All that is needed is that a state of war should exist.”

“In our society, those who have the best knowledge of what is happening are also those who are furthest from seeing the world as it is. In general, the greater the understanding, the greater the delusion; the more intelligent, the less sane. One clear illustration of this is the fact that war hysteria increases in intensity as one rises in the social scale.”

The book was written by a man called Eric Arthur Blair born in 1903, who wrote a book called 1984 under the name of George Orwell.

Please do show us where we can all verify that “As for the airport – it is a go.” And “The Govt. want to get the infrastructure in place before they put money into the airport.”

    Yes I was…

In fairness to him, he has been recommended to me by many people all of whom tell me he is a “one man band” and has more business than he can handle. That’s great for him and I wish him all the best.

However, at the end of the day, like you, ‘service’ is crucially important to me and although he replied to my first email, he has chosen not to reply to FOUR of my follow up emails all of which were asking the same question on Mon 10/2/2006 10:33 AM, Tue 9/26/2006 6:02 PM, Thu 9/21/2006 9:21 PM and Tue 9/19/2006 5:08 PM

Since he has chosen not to reply to me, I have been forced to choose not to do business with him.

I think you should listen to your gut but, that’s just my opinion.

There is no shortage of land for sale in Costa Rica.

You might want to search the site for the word ‘Zamora’ who is the WeLoveCostaRica.com recommended Costa Rica tax professional.

Send him a quick email and he may be able to help with ‘some’ of your questions…

The problem with “tax professionals” here is that you can either find a good US tax professionsla OR a good Costa Rica tax professional, but finding both in the same person has not been possible in m experience.

Wow! That brought back a flood of memories… As a former member of Her Royal Majesty’s Royal Marine Commandos (the ‘original’ Green Berets :-)) – I do indeed remember Northern Ireland.

And just think of what will happen if we are foolish enough (which it looks like we are) to attack Iran.

After the “success” in Iraq, Iran will be be another “cakewalk,” after all it only has three times as many people as Iraq and far better equipped armed forces than Iraq.

There are a variety of models and they in turn have different designs but I believe that they range from 85-170M2 which would be 914 – 1,829 square feet

I will have more information to post on these as soon as I can find some more time… There are also some of the new apartments (the project that they have just finished) with tenants that are available for sale ranging from US$110,244 – US$146,474 totally furnished.

For someone who plans on retiring in a couple of years, it would be good to buy the apartment now, have the tenant continue to pay rent (ranging from $700-$1,300) and then move in when they move out …

I don’t think you would find this area of Santa Ana too hot (much cooler than any of the beach areas) as there is normally a very comfortable breeze.

The first project I mentioned in Santa Ana is lower, next week we’ll look at the new Country Club project in Santa Ana which is slightly higher and more breezy.

Having said that, the best thing to do would be to come back and visit for a few days and nights and see for yourself.

This area really is sooooo convenient for everything

This is one of the finicky little matters where you may get a different answer from each person you speak with …

Like when you ask five different people at the IRS a question about your taxes and get five different answers.

I would think that it’s the ultimate ‘purpose’ that’s the most important thing to bear in mind here…

In assuming that you are asking these questions for the purposes of obtaining residency, the best person to ask would be an attorney that specializes in Costa Rica immigration. It’s what they want that is important and not what a US attorney ‘may’ think they want…
