THERE WILL BE NO MORE POSTS IN THIS THREAD REGARDING THE HOLOCAUST!

WeLoveCostaRica.comAndrewKeymasterJanuary is indeed “peak” season and you may run into some problems finding space…
It’s not just the tourists that are looking for expensive rooms, the Costa Ricans spend a lot of time at the beach in December and January and for the most part, they’ll be looking for the ‘affordable’ accommodation.

WeLoveCostaRica.comPS. Do you REALLY need a laptop here? There are plenty of internet cafes and worrying about your laptop while you’re trying to vacation is something most people prefer not to do…
AndrewKeymasterThere are few property managers who are interested in looking after one home, a whole block of apartments maybe but one home is difficult
Having said that, you have not stated what it is exactly you want manage.

WeLoveCostaRica.comAndrewKeymasterLotus – I have met with their attorneys on a related matter but knowing the backgrounds of exactly who started this company, I have no desire whatsoever to know what they are doing now or, at any time in the future. And sorry! I can not and will not expand on this explanation.

from someone who has actually been to any of Bills developments in Costa Rica. That one person seemed impressed, and seemed very satisfied dealing with Bill. Most of what I hear is of the development in Florida. It sounds pretty old, and had a much different format. Like all communities, it seems to be evolving, maybe not very nicely from the sound of things. I’d prefer to consider what is being planned in Costa Rica, not what has already been done in the past in Florida. Is it possible that there are only 4 homes because the infrastructure must come first? Also a big difference between a planned community with schools, churches, shopping centers, etc, than a bunch of 1 and 2 acre lots. There is much to be considered, which is why I’ll be making a visit this week. I can tell you that something good may be going on when 20K properties are now going for 80K. I’ll post again upon my return.
On the negative side, it does seem that this is a personal battle, and I surmise there is a history beyond this thread between Scott and Bill.

IMHO, nothing good could be happening if there is that big a jump in pricing for any lot anywhere in Costa Rica. Sounds like more land grab mentality to me.AndrewKeymasterCould we perhaps ask you Rahul to help all of our VIP Members and ask you to write a brief article about “how to” do it?
I will then feature it in our newsletter because a lot of people are interested in this …

WeLoveCostaRica.comAndrewKeymasterWhat verdict? As mentioned, there is no official Multiple Listing Service (MLS) in Costa Rica.

AndrewKeymasterCongratulations! What are you hoping to do with 45 acres of land?
Would suggest that you contact Lic. Roberto Umaña who has been recommended to me by many of our VIP Members. Unlike most attorneys, immigration is the ONLY thing he does.
You can see his article at
Please use the contact form at the bottom of his article.

WeLoveCostaRica.comAndrewKeymasterThanks for sharing gatorbyter – great up to date feedback straight from the ‘horse’s mouth’ – an expert. That’s who we want to hear from.

WeLoveCostaRica.comAndrewKeymasterIt’s this site….
AndrewKeymasterNo doubt they should start digging any day … Perhaps in January 2030 or so 🙂

AndrewKeymasterAgreed! MANY people are considering a new life in Costa Rica because of what they see going on ‘back home.’
Just for the record, I am British so my American political views are powerless anyway, much like the rest of the citizens there… 🙂
Scott Oliver
PS. But Costa Rica politics and how it affects our VIP Members is definitely allowed.
AndrewKeymasterSorry! But I’m not sure if I am reading this right …
You are buying property that you won’t legally own for at least two years from people that don’t actually own the property they are trying to sell you?
Is that right?
Does that sound like a good idea?

AndrewKeymasterA few years ago, I cane across a large terciopelo whilst walking my dog in Trejos Montealegre in Escazu
It was sunning itself on the sand surrounding a giant anthill.
You could see a photograph of it as it starts to slide down into the hole at:

AndrewKeymasterI’m sure that prople have found ways around these somewhat arbitrary requirements David but as a professional investment advisor – who can not and does not work with US citizens as offshore investment – I can not personally encourage anyone to get involved in those areas that might be considered ‘gray’ by the tax authorities.
Having said that, if you know how this can be done legally, PLEASE do tell us how you thing this could work for our VIP Members.
