There are very, very, very few fully furnished homes available for very short-term rental.

WeLoveCostaRica.comPS. I do hope to be able to recommend a place by the end of next week but want to check it out first…
AndrewKeymasterActually Jenny – Who would we speak with to try and get a full blown article about TriCare for the site?
This is a group of people that I would especially like to help.
Please email the contact details and I’ll arrange something …
Scott Oliver – Ex-Royal Marines Commando &
Founder – WeLoveCostaRica.comAndrewKeymasterThat’s it! Sorry folks! We will not be ‘discussing’ anything more about Paragon on this website.
I am sick to death of hearing about Paragon and if the Chairman of Paragon will not answer the simplest of questions posed by our VIP Members like “How many homes have your customers built?” we have nothing to discuss.
There will be no more discussion forum posting allowed on Paragon UNLESS they are unbelievably EXTREMELY important to our VIP Members.

WeLoveCostaRica.comAndrewKeymasterI hadn’t realized your definition of ‘construction’ at Marina Pez Vela meant a photograph of a truck on top of some raw land.
It would appear that fionabbb was correct in saying that you would evade her question and not confirm how many homes have already been built on your land but that’s your privilege.
We should however remember that this is a public dicussion forum and those taking part have the “right to question” what anyone is doing whenever they please.
It would be more convenient if our VIP Members only asked the easy questions but we have a very intelligent group here Mr. Gale including many real estate professionals in Costa Rica and they will ask tough questions from time to time and, I would have thought it would have been better for you to try and answer them instead of avoiding them.
Best wishes

WeLoveCostaRica.comAndrewKeymasterThere is an article about riptides at
I spoke with a friend of mine at Century 21 in Quepos last night who knows a little bit about that area, he assures me – to set the record straight – that they have NOT begun construction of the marina yet but if anyone can show us photographs of this construction, I will gladly post them on the site.
And just because slips are being sold does not mean that construction has begun and, to be blunt – how many people buying land from Paragon are going to be buying shares for a slip at Marina Pez Vela that start at US$120,000 for the smallest sized boat of up to 35′?

WeLoveCostaRica.comPS. Like fionabbb – I would also like to know how many homes have already been built – after two years is it? -By Paragon customers in total on the 13 different projects that they have? Anybody know?
AndrewKeymasterYou have “given up some freedoms to be here and if I want those freedoms returned all I have to do is go home.” (To the USA)
You have to be kidding me Jenny! Have you not seen what has happened to “freedoms” in the US and in the UK in the last five years?
I have never felt more free and content as I do living in Costa Rica and having lived in the US for 11 years so it’s not an inexperienced point of view.

You can pick your own perfect climate here simply by adjusting the altitude

AndrewKeymasterThe USA is also holding US citizens and foreigners illegally for “long periods of time” who have “never been charged or tried for any crime.”
Last week, the Supreme Court “dealt the Bush administration a stinging rebuke, declaring in Hamdan vs. Rumsfeld that military commissions for trying terrorist suspects violate both U.S. military law and the Geneva Convention.”

WeLoveCostaRica.comAndrewKeymasterIn person is best…
We’ve been told that the “international banking community” is on the “lookout for drugs and terrorist funds” but that’s just a tired old excuse to find out exactly where YOU are keeping and sending YOUR money…
Heck! Yesterday – July 4th of all days, the Guardian reported that the “Nearly five years after George Bush vowed to bring Osama bin Laden to justice “dead or alive”, it’s the end of the line for the CIA’s Alec Station, the unit dedicated to the hunt for the al-Qaida leader.” “CIA disbands BinLaden unit”
They’re that keen on finding him and his money….

AndrewKeymasterWe do have a articles on this site about the new highway and one thing that does amaze me is that every time I hear the story the time to get to the coast is cut by another fifteen minutes.
You can see the articles at:
It is NOT a San Jose to Jaco highway, the three sections are San José – Ciudad Colón, then Ciudad Colón – Orotina, then Orotina – Caldera.
The original idea to build a new 77 kilometre (49 miles) route between San Jose and Caldera goes back to 1978 – 27 years ago and when I wrote the first article, the plan was to have five toll booths along that route. I believe that they have since added another two toll booths.
So driving the speed limit and travelling 49 miles with maybe seven toll booths on the way gets you to Caldera in 70 minutes maybe? Instead of about 90 now?
Saving maybe twenty minutes of travelling time for a MINIMUM cost of US$144,000,000 does not sound like a wise investment to me. I would have thought they would be better off improving the existing roadways and saving $100 here and there….

WeLoveCostaRica.comAndrewKeymasterI am NOT a Doctor but from studying Costa Rica for the past 7 years, it seems to me that the only disease amongst that list that occurs with any frequency would be dengue fever and you can see more about that at
I have never had a vaccination to live here and do not take any medication to protect myself from any of the diseases mentioned above (which might be why I’m so bloody healthy) and PLEASE NOTE that most of those are tropical diseases that occur in only a few areas of Costa Rica and I can count the number of mosquito bites I’ve suffered in 7 years on two hands

WeLoveCostaRica.comAndrewKeymasterI LOVE this country and the people but it remains a small, “less-developed” Central American country.
I have a number of bank accounts and deal with a number of so called “private bankers” and to be blunt, in comparison with first world, highly regulated and normally well trained financial services -they don’t have a clue so…
Keep six months cash here – only, keep the rest safely ‘offshore.’
