Wow Now I know I am dreaming a Brit admits to making a mistake. Only kidding she does beautiful work and I want to see if she would take a look at my project? I sent you an email concerning my project at Bandera Beach. I know you get many emails per day. If you could give me a few minutes of your time, please I can call you.
    Thanks

    Mr Hugo Salazar
Is a renound Criminal attorney that I would recommend to anyone. He is a very hard worker and he does not charge $275 an hour like some attorney’s recommended here. Hugo uses yahoo messenger to talk to his non Spanish speaking clients. Sr Hugo as I call him, retrieved my corporate books back from my former lawyer and his wife by filing an action in criminal court last December. The prosecuter of the case delivered a court order last March to my former attorney to return the books to me in 5 days of the judge (Juez) will put him in jail. You see if you are wronged, Costa Rica’s Penal Code has more teeth. If you want Hugo to look over your case he charges $40US. His rates may have gone up but they are no where near what the highest law firm in the country charges. Scott should really ask Hugo to write an article here instead of the pricey firms. After all there are people of moderate means here as VIP members.

I agree. Christopher Howard updates that book every year. I believe the 15th Edition is the most recent. He also runs a pretty good website. So as not to insult Scott, it is not a matter of what is better. You need an all around perspective. AM Costa Rica is run by an older gentleman, that tends to be more conservative and that explains why he promoted the Costa Rican Real Estate Crash. He means well.

Yes I have a comment. People don’t move to Costa Rica for the property values. They move because it is safe and inexpensive. If only 1 % of the baby boomers retireing within the next ten years move here, that would still be 800,000 people. If my math is correct. It is too expensive in the USA. If land drops in CR that is icing on the cake.

I have trouble with the BNCR website. You would think that they would have the site in english. I deposited $18 K in a Euros CD a year ago angained 25%. This could be a false dollar rally because the colone is also rising. Does the Parrita branch have safety deposit boxes? I would still keep Euros plus the bank will pay moderest interest.
I think you can open a Euros account for a few hundred$$$US? You know for a checkless society there is alot of people walking around with cash. Do you know if there is a limit on withdrawls> Have you ever used their services to send money to the USA?

I have been in to TV’s all my life, repairs, reviews, etc. Now most electronics are throw aways. If you are on the beach I have heard electronics last only 2 years because of the salt water. So you either want an expensive brand and hope it lasts longer buy the extra warranty or buy the cheapest . If it is made in China always pay a low price. I will be importing some for my project. Here are your basic rules.
Made in China, Mexico get the longest warranty
Malaysia, Thiland , Taiwan Better quality
    Best Quality Japan

    Best Brand Sony

Best Value Samsung DLP with the LED NOT THE BULB. Try also getting the 120 MHZ function.
These are the slimmest they will hang on the wall. and they are light for shipping 61 inch is 60 lbs.

Go for it. Life is too short. Write Howard an email and ask him. Buy his book (updated every year) Buy Scott’s book, buy the Peterson’s legal book from Scott, These people have years of experience in Costa Rica. You need the experience they have. See as much of the country you can and DO NOT DON NOT send any money here from land promoters. Scott has a beautiful property listed for $179K. Fly down now meet with Scott and take a look at that property. By the time you retire, it will double or triple in price.
    Good Luck

Sorry I didn’t realize FSBO had rules. Just like this forum . Tell that guy that lost only $10K so far in CR to come back after he lost $100K. Thats almost as silly as the guy that has a trained eagle that he straps a camera to. He outlines your property with red balloons and the Eagle will take aireal photos of a property.
