blackjackdsMemberSo if you own a business, how long can you stay in the country? What type of residency is required to own a business?
blackjackdsMemberWhat made you decide to move? I am 25 and I have basically been thinking about moving there non-stop since I visited last November.
blackjackdsMemberIf she owns a restaurant who is really going to see if she is working there or not?
blackjackdsMemberhow about the beaches and the scenery? What about wildilfe? Real estate prices? Crime?
blackjackdsMemberWhat is Panama like? How is it similar and different from Costa Rica?
blackjackdsMembercould you give me a couple examples of habitat preservation charities working in costa rica?
blackjackdsMemberFrom what I have heard on this board it sounds like giving to humans is almost impossibly expensive. And to be honest I tend to want to help the animals first anyway.
blackjackdsMemberWould buying land to save the rainforest be a worthwile cause in your opinion?
blackjackdsMemberIt blows my mind that the Costa Rican regulatory agencies would make it so hard to help out less fortunate citizens. What about a wildlife preservation instead? Rainforest loss due to deforestation is a huge problem in my opinion. You could have a US based non profit buy land that could be turned into a reserve. You could possibly even create some well paying jobs for locals as well like maintaining the land or planting plants for additional habitat. Any issues with that plan right away? I see one issue of being able to buy land in increments instead of all at once. Ideally you could purchase pieces of land as donations came in but I would assume most land owners would not want to sell one acre at a time.
blackjackdsMemberThanks David,
Did you find it would be cheaper to build than buy?
blackjackdsMemberhow does a costa rican bank qualify you for a mortgage? US credit score? Income?
blackjackdsMemberwhy are all these threads closing? is this topic getting too long?
blackjackdsMemberImxplorer…Did that republican comment sting or what because you evidently stopped paying attention to the main point of the comment. I did not say, expect, or have any idea if the CR cops will start cracking down on crime any time soon. I am saying that if they did, it would be a better answer to the problem than having guns. And I have no statistics to back my comment about guns and increased crime in america because of them but I do have some logic….Civilians allowed to have guns = criminals allowed to have guns= more violence….civillians not allowed to have guns = criminals not allowed to have guns = less violence. Maybe there is no better answer than “get a gun”, but like i said before its not like after all the civilians get guns the criminals are going to be like “well I guess our robbing days are over, lets go get a job app” they are going to say “well I guess we have to get guns now”
blackjackdsMemberImxploring…I am not trying to say that not having guns is the best answer, I am saying its a better answer than having guns. Better law enforcement and tougher penalties is probably a better idea than both. I am guessing you are an American and probably a republican so you love your guns but having guns to defend ourselves has increased the violent crime rate in America so I don’t know why you are advocating the exact same thing in costa rica.
