Regular windows are available all over Guanacaste. Most of the towns have a glazier who will will make whatever you want!

grb1063, I had read ‘somewhere’ that the American ex-pats were even less than 2%, but this was a while ago, and I can’t remember the ‘facts’.
When we first moved here, Costa Rica had the largest of American ex-pats, in the world. But, that changed…

There are many rich Ticos! If you look at the cars they are driving, and the majority of the very large homes, are owned by Ticos, not ‘immigrants’. There is a actually a very small percentage of ex-pats/foreigners living here, with Nicaraguans making up the largest immigrant ‘group’. And an even smaller percentage of ‘non-Ticos’ actually owns land.
The folk who currently earn $600 will be looking for a piece of land, very different from what an ex-pat will be looking for.
There is still lots of land that locals can buy, ‘thousands’ of $$$$ less then we can.

I’m afraid the bugs don’t care whether or not they live at the beach or in the Central valley. They’re everywhere!

On Spanish, I’m afraid. Be aware that pre-existing conditions are not covered by INS.

We have a friend using this system at the moment. Problem could be, there are few ‘specialists’ and equipment necessary in ‘finishing’ this product.
    Her building is going S-L-O-W!

scottbenson, I agree with what you are saying, as we live in small house in small town, Costa Rica and before that we employed coffee pickers but lived in a small house in a Tico neighborhood.
But, I don’t see what this has to do with the article this post was about.

Do you have the scientific name for the trees you need information on?

The price would be nearer $3,000,000!
There are some in the Fortuna and Guayabo de Bagaces area. In the Arenal area, the price is higher.

‘They’ never wrote the article! It was the realtor, Jefff Wicox, and as far as I can see it is ‘just an advertisement for ‘living or buying in Atenas’.

Don’t think folk don’t want to have coffee with you, but remember that most members of this forum don’t actually live here! And, of those who do, probably very few live in San Isidro de General.

Imxploring, while we had no problems actually importing a vehicle last Dec. and would highly recommend the broker, there was more time involved/expense than we realized!
So, be aware, if you ship here, be like the Boy Scouts and ‘Be prepared’!

Gkbiz, in the case of storage or rather no storage, it would be a waste of time to shop in February. Sure, do some window shopping, but there isn’t much use in contacting people who are trying to sell ‘quality used furniture from an upscale residence/condo being sold or repossessed’ if you can’t take it with you.

Be advised that your Forerunner will cost at least 64% in duty, based on the value here in Costa Rica. So, really consider that. Here is a page to find out what the duty will be http://www.hacienda.go.cr/autohacienda/autovalor.aspx
The major problem is ‘getting something made’ is ‘will you REALLY like it when it’s finished’?

Have you plans on where to ‘store’ your purchases if you purchase them in February?

It doesn’t say how long they have actually lived here, just mentions they lived at the beach for 5 months.
It also doesn’t say that this is their home! There are two different houses shown. One is in the midst of the article on Atenas.
The other has a caption that reads ‘Luxury home for sale in Atenas’.
I wonder how long they have lived in Atenas?

I find the Aliss stores have a great variety of accessories. They are located in a few of the malls.
