It really is important to follow these instructions if posted in a public facility or in someone’s home.
Newer homes may have larger pipes… but they may not.

INS is required for workers, not your household insurance.

The problem if theft is involved, you have to prove it … and this is often, impossible.
Your tools, unless they are individually mentioned, are not considered part of your household goods and this is often what is targeted.
You can get earthquake and fire insurance, though.

Some North American women I met over the years, also came hoping to find a partner, but found themselves, still lonely, but part of an ever growing group, while many men found ‘love’ usually with a younger Tica.
I remember reading an article I think it wasvwritten by George Lundquist, that more single females ‘return home’ than couples.

Well, some of us know that there are golf courses, it’s just that they are not all over the country and those that are located in the tourist frequented areas, may be more expensive than some of us want to spend.

Many expats only pay their utilities and do their banking ‘on-line’ so they don’t have to interactwith people in Spanish.

Checking the distance on a map, and going where they want to, takes much longer than it should. 😯

Multiple marriages seem to ’cause problems’ when one spouse wishes to return home to their grandchildren and the other one doesn’t.

Missing their old social scene in which they have had an important position …

I think it will depend on where your property is located.
No use picking an agent who specializes in the Central Valley if the land is located in the Osa peninsula.

Unfortunately, no matter what anyone else has to pay, it will depend on the person you deal with and the CAJA/CCSS office in the area that you live, that will decide what you are required to pay.

One mustn’t forget to take with you in a CAJA hospital, your own pillow, linens, PJ’s, soap, and towels…and make sure you have someone to take them home to be laundered.
Also one must arrange for a ‘visitor’ to be there, covering a 24 hour period, to help you to the washroom, feed you as there is never enough staff nor ‘volunteer groups’ who step up to help the nursing staff.

Just remember not to commit to any long term lease until you have personally viewed the property and checked out the area.
This is not aimed at this potential property, but at any property.

What you actually said was ’…it was excellent’. It isn’t
I am not going to get into a heated discussion with someone that has never been here, never used CAJA but can find information, any information, on the net which support his answer.

We have been living here for 13 years and so our monthly payments are less than that, and is based on the requirements of that period, but Pensionados who more recently have been based on the minimum $120 are approx.$120 and Rentistas with $2500 is approx $250

Unless you are both going to apply separately, only one pension of at least $1000 per month is required. Sometimes it is advantageous to both apply, in case of the death of the primary applicant, the remaining spouse will be required to apply again, if they are still ‘temporary residents’.
As some of us mentioned before applying for Investor status is hit or miss, and it usually takes even longer.
Can’t help with the what the monthly fee going that route may be. Contact your chosen lawyer or ARCR
