I am a dentist in US planning on retiring in CR in one year – to the southpacific area. I would also be interested in the possible instances of a dental hygienist from US working in CR. I have spent 42 yrs in practice in the US and know we dentists do not do very good cleanings – we rely on excellent care by hygienists and would never have another dentist clean our own teeth! My only hope is that dentists in CR are tqught well to do preventive cleaning in their training – I will be interested to see… It’s possible – – I won’t rule it out until I live there awhile, but it’s not very likely in my opinion.

I presume a CR dentist could hire a US hygienist to work as an “assistant” and am hoping to find someone like that when I retire there soon!
