Hola,
Here’s a link that may help you. It will also give prices for the feria’s(farmers market) usually each month. http://www.doscolones.com/doscolones/2006/07/index.html
dhsbookerMemberMargie,
Good luck to you, I hope that you continue to write your interesting articles and that this thread has not dampered your lust for life and adventure.Scott Oliver,
After 9 days of reading this thread, it sickens me that this disturbed person is still out there insulting VIP members. I would hope you can step in and put a stop to it. If not, I beg that NO ONE respond back to this person. The only highlight, was that he mentions he is NOT in C.R.Deb
dhsbookerMemberHola mustardgirl,
There a several tours for some of those areas. You may want to take a look these websites. http://www.boomersincostarica.com/ and also http://www.costaricaretireonss.com/ They are both focused in the central valley area.Good luck!
dhsbookerMemberDavid is correct on the Plan 16. That has nothing to do with the CAJA, it is one of the numerous plans offered by INS. Here is a link that will give more specific info on the plans. According to this there is NO CAP on the CAJA. http://www.segurosgarrett.com/english/articles/art_details.asp?ArticleID=5 Hope this helps.
16 days and counting!!
DebdhsbookerMemberDitto to all on the slow or should I say non exsistant home sales. My husband and I have 2 investment properties in St.Pete, FL that have been up for sale for several months as well, we have lowered the price several times, and added lots of incentives. So for any of you FL. realtors in the Tampa Bay area if you are interested you can email me off the board at dhsbooker@yahoo.com We will be making our first trip to CR to look at properties, in a few weeks, so we have a lot of motivation to sell!
DebbiedhsbookerMemberABC Mudanzas was formerly run by Charlie Zeller, and many people used his services to move here.
He recently had a falling out with his business partner (who was not active in the business BTW), and has now started a new company, Ship to Costa Rica, shiptocostarica@racsa.co.cr with toll free number 1-866-245-6923
This is part of a posting on another forum. Just from a few weeks ago, so it looks like Charlie is NO longer with ABC Mundanzas.
dhsbookerMemberKoty,
Here are a few websites that you may want to look at. I still had them saved to my favorites when my husband and I were looking to purchase some land in that area. We were going to be staying in Cocles just south of Puerto Viejo at Fincachica, we even had wired our deposit, but decided that after more research that it looked like we would love it as a vacation spot but not to retire to. We did lose our deposit but, the owner who allready had given us a great deal on the small cabina, said when we got over that way to make sure we let him know since he would give us a very special deal! If you are looking at property the recommended realtor is Manuel from Carib-Sur. They also have a personal website you may want to look at since they have small children. They live in Punta Uva. The websites are as follows:
http://www.puertoviejo.net
http://www.puertoviejoweb.com
http://www.costaricaguide.info/manzanillo
http://www.caribsur-realestate.com
http://www.lifeinpuntauva.com
Hope this helps, have a great trip!Debbie

DebdhsbookerMemberWould love to tell you where you’re full of it, but I’m speechless after reading your post. Hope you wake up on the right side of the bed tomorrow.
dhsbookerMemberMaravilla,
Sorry I didn’t get back last night on this, but my last post was at midnight! Way past this old lady’s bed time for a friday night(lol)You must know her, she has stayed with Beth and Andrew and was at the party they had. Here’s her blog link http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Just-Jen/ She has 38 journals out there! So happy reading. You can find the info on the King size mattress in the June 18th blog.
DebbiedhsbookerMemberMaravilla,
Whew! Glad to hear it wasn’t only me! We will be there on Oct.6th till the 23rd. It’s finally getting closer! Yes, I have been reading Andrew’s blog. I also recently came across the blog by JustJen. I had to get in touch with her when they talked about where they got their king size mattress! Silly me, these are the kinds of things I like to hear about! So it was nice to make another connection. Plan on getting in touch with them when we are down there. Those blogs are what keep me going till Oct! Oh no, now I really sound desperate (lol)
O.K back to gambling…Debbie
dhsbookerMemberJenny, or anyone else,
I just recently read on another discussion blog that CIMA also has some type of health plan similar to an HMO like in the states. Does anyone have any info on this or heard of it befor? It’s the first time I ever came across that there was something other than INS or CAJA. Would be especially intersted if any pre-x clause and cost. Thanks, Debbie
dhsbookerMemberBill, Just got done reading it. Looks like great news. The Tico Times also has an article in today under Daily News.
DebbiedhsbookerMemberJames, that isnt the correct one. It is .org and not .com. Try this I jusy got in http://www.travelblog.org/Central-America-Caribbean/Costa-Rica, but ther is still a problem with the site today.
