I reread TACA’s pet policy and am now further confused. One place says they fly pets as cargo, not baggage, on regular flights. Another place on the TACAcargo page states that they do not transport pets from North America. I think I would consider American, too! I follow the pet transport threads because we will be bringing our cattle dog when we move in a few years!
Hello Diego,

The pets will be travelling as cargo on Taca. I have already confirmed with the airline that they can travel. I have also sent the booking request this morning. I will keep you posted if I need your assistance in translating. So far, I am communicating with the customs broker fine.

Yes, that is why I asked, because I have heard of patients having to go back to the states for treatment. I want to make sure I consider all possibilities. Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. That definitely makes me feel better. I would not doubt the Doctors are as good as in the States. Do you feel that the technology is also as good, such as the equipment, etc.? Thanks so much for your input. I would prefer to remain in CR if treatment is necessary, as well as saving $2000 per year on premiums if we get INS as supplemental to CAJA. Do you live in San Jose or a remote area? We will be in Playa Bejuco on the Central Pacific.

Costa Rica: Stacy’s Insurance Company Makes Obamacare Plans

“CALLER:  Oh, yeah, right. (laughing)  But listen, as an employee of an insurance company, we got our benefit booklets this week and guess what we’re doing now?  We have set up facilities in Costa Rica and we are paying 100% of all medical charges associated with heart valve replacement, bypass surgeries, knee replacements, hip replacements, and spinal fusion if you travel to Costa Rica to have it done.  Now, it does not cover the travel expenses.

RUSH:  Hold it a minute.  No, no, no.  You gotta start at the beginning.  You call here and say your company is writing policies now, and you have set up facilities in Costa Rica. ”

You can see the entire transcript of the Rush Limbaugh telephone call at [ http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_111309/content/01125115.guest.html ]

After you have taken a look at the full transcript, I would love your comments on this…
