You make a lot of assumptions sir. I remember “Burrito Night” as being every Monday.

Reasonable has nothing to do with it, and I guess that you call thousands of Indian citizens and Gandhi “unreasonable.” And that they were. Courage at times requires the suppression of reason.

I wrote broadly, you infer I was requesting people fill jails to oppose an immigration law that no one pays attention to. Get over your greed for rightness.

I never even implied that people have the right to stay as long as they wish too. Take another hit of arrogance and put a few more words in my mouth while you are at it.

The law states that you can stay in the country 90 days and that you must leave for 72 hours before returning.

Sorry to offend your conservative hogwash dribble, you have obviously taken it personal sir. 20 paces then fire!

Don’t let the name fool you – I don’t think Lotus is a girl. But I’d change my handle if I was him – no offense meant Lo!

    Scott,

With all due respect senor, is it against the law to develop property in CR without being a resident???

I reread my post and I do not see any suggestions of doing anything illegal in CR.

A great American once said that if a law is unjust than it is the responsibility of its citizens to break it and overfill the jails. It is the theory of civil disobedience. My point is that Ticos for the most part are great examples of a civil disobedient culture, just look at their driving habits (LOL).

PS I did read between the lines.

Do not mention it. You perform a great service here. You have my respect.

    Sincerely,

Don Diego de La Vega – or was that Don Diego de Las Vegas – you get mixed up sometime when you get old … enough to know better.

HOGWASH – I have developed property for twenty years in CR and I am not a resident. There is practice and there is theory. CR is 90% practice. Don’t let the theorist snag you with the “let me educate you” line to capture your money regarding how its done theoretically. Theory and practice in CR walk different roads. CR doesn’t need anymore US mindset, its poluted enough, not with American, but with indoctrinated mind sets regarding life and living.

IE: If you submitted an entitlement package for a good size development and followed the theory of how to submit it, you would go directly to the end of the line and stay there awhile.

You have to fit in with the status quo and the CR way of doing things, for the most part, has not caught up with the written theory. Or – is it that Ticos do not like being good little followers. Like the American mindset. Maybe they are not indoctrinated to blindly do as they are told by the almighty LAW – even if they are bad laws.

Please do not be the good little social security number in CR, this is a place with heart where people are humans first then job titles later. If you are going to do things here pay your dues and learn how the Ticos do them. Don’t reinvent the wheel, it doesn’t need to be perfectly round in your eyes, it just needs to roll. And thank God the CR wheel rolls slowly.

A “Costa Rican Lawyer”, that’s as good an oxymoron as a “Mexican airline!”

OK, just kidding – 1 in 10 are good, and here is one of them:

Marcella Garcia is great for your purpose. Her father is the best criminal attorney in Costa Rica and an outstanding human, not to mention a consummate gentleman. I have nothing but the highest regard for both of them and we have been through hell and high water together. This is not an add for a friend. If you want to get it done at a reasonable price she is the one. Tell Marcella that her dad’s gringo client from San Diego sent you and you will get special treatment.

They are in San Jose by the court house. Can you please tell me your name and I will call ahead for you.

    Mission statement,

OK Scott, since this seems to be a touchy feely morning, I’ll buy in:

My mission statement is to make the inevitable palatable by never knowing whether I am working or playing. To as frequently as possible stop to admire the smile on a child’s face, the pride in a parents eye, the grace of a tree and to see sensuality where other don’t. Appreciation is the highest form of awareness and CR is still a great place to appreciate.

OK Maravilla, you can watch my back, but don’t start getting touchy feely with me. That “bumbaclot” remark got me thinking. I like your passion but remeber I’m giving you my back,,\ Charge!!!!

Yeah, profiteer, but with soul. If you are going to develop, you should develop with low density. I have taken some profits in my life, but not at the expense of the environment. Property is going to be developed and it should as people need housing, It is how its developed that is the question. Beach front wall to wall condos – Guanacaste style, Jaco High rises, the same in Manuel Antonio. That’s killing the goose that lays the golden egg.
And by the way who is the “we” you are talking about, you and the mouse in your pocket. Better to be a profiteer with soul than a mouseketeer in soulless stucco box with a whitewater ocean view.

The world needs profiteers like me. I am a soul man.

You just proved my point. There are no GOOD reasons. Caja?? Remove the J and add a C.

INS medical, I am not to sure about that but if I had something seriously wrong with me its back to the US baby. I wouldn’t even have a hemoroidectomy in CR. Nothing but the best doctors for this body and they aint in CR.

Oh and by the way, I will be staying up at night worrying that CR doesn’t want our money, because if they didn’t let us PTs in money would be pourng out so fast that it would make you barf your gallo pinto.

    Caja!!! LOL

They are too backward for Democracy. They were advanced 40 something years ago, and now they are in the dark ages. Hey there is going to be tribal wars. We cannot stop that and to the strongest, the victors go the spoils. We should have never disbanned the government; we should have just put the next guy in control. And if that didn’t work we come back and do it again until it did work.

I’m no genius, but the next days after we occupied I said the in the long run all it will do is strengthen Iran. If me, a num nut x long hair leaping unknown could see it, why couldn’t leadership see it.

They could!! They saw it as an opening to fire up the military industrial complex. I hope Bush a Cheney choke on there money along with that a** CIA leader. Did you see his pretend indignant face. What a jerk. Lotus, we have made a mistake and Gas is going to 4 bucks and the worst president in our nation’s history loves it – he is completely unaffected.

The problem is, look who the stinking democrats have to offer. Hilary would be good only because of Bill. Clinton had humility. Hilary C doesn’t. I love Obama but does he have enough experience? Colin Powell is the guy, but where is he? He doesn’t want the job. Who would want the spotlight on every posterior pimple?

We are screwed because of the leadership vacuum. Blame the press as they stick there flash light up everybody’s rectum looking for dung. Would you want your rectum lit up?

That’s why we have no leaders.

I don’t want saints. I want leaders with faults. Anybody that is too goody goody two shoes I don’t trust. IE Catholic priests.

I want some one real to run our country, warts and all.

Lotus you are right to be outraged – all this Bush bungle is exactly that.

If stupid Gore would not have distant himself from one of the best presidents ever (balanced budget, excellent international statesman etc etc etc) he would have won.

Noooo he had to take the moral high ground and distant himself from Bill cause he got a little head on the side. Powerful men deserve a little head on the side. If they didn’t want some I would question their motives. At least he wasn’t a little coke head drunk have something to prove to Daddy like the idiot who is ruining our country. I’m way sick of it too.

If there was a draft there would be riots… you can bet on it. Bush is the presidential equivalent of J Edgar Hoover. A total pompous pig.
