WOW. Is this forum now sponsored buy Thrush Limbaloney and Faux”Nooz” ?
Man………………stunning………Doug WardMemberTake all of your seguros sheets. Add. Divide by 12 and do a direct transfer. NO CASH !
“He didn’t pay me. He’s lying. I have 14 witnesses”If you pay them more than the law requires(recommended) you only need to pay the aguinaldo by the number (not recommended)
Proceed at your own peril.
“I dunno why the saw died ? Bad gasolina !!! Drill ??? What drill?”Doug WardMemberSarchi is cookie cutter items for the most part. Look for a true custom maker. There’s some builders on this foro that know who to talk to. Let your wallet be your guide.
Doug WardMemberIt’s better to keep it simple.
It’s a culture that doesn’t know how to knock on a door or what their neighbors real name is.You expect an organized Caja ? They don’t even know how to take blood pressure.
I once asked a guy”why no knocking ?”
Only OIJ does that ! ( before they shatter the door).
Same with names : : Jose Ramirez Sanchez Diaz Gonzales ? ” No conoce.
Turns out to be his brother in law of 30 years. “Cola de cascabel”.Doug WardMember

Well-written, informative article. Thanks for sharing this, and for the subsequent link to the Arenal Gardeners page on Facebook.
I am up to my eyeballs with these little bastards showing up everywhere..

its to the pointI am not interested in working with nature I just want solutions :evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:

I recommend Gary IndianaSeptember 12, 2014 at 9:13 pm in reply to: A different approach/Question about Tico’s VISA to the US. #167015Doug WardMember
Ok, my gigantic knowledge base and source of infinite wisdom…..
Is there a sure-fire way for a TICO to get a VISA to go to the States just to go to Disney or some other touristy thing, for a short period of time?
Why has our State Department made things so hard for TICOs?
Am I missing something, and do any of you have any wisdom, you wouldn’t mind sharing?
Thanks as always guys!!
The state dept has records of the lines of US citizens looking for help getting temporary passports, licenses, credit cards etc due to the smiling, helpful ones lifting them of the burden of carrying all that stuff around.
Naturally much of this happens at the beaches so they must also head to the paradise that is the Central Craphole 🙄 to get this done.August 9, 2014 at 11:30 am in reply to: Costa Rica’s President pledges support to end the conflict between Israel and Palestine #169976Doug WardMemberMaybe he should concern himself with the Costa Rican fallacy of functional, high level, health care instead ?

After I wrote that, I realized that the last time I bought a refrigerator was more than 20 years ago. So for the hell of it, I visited the appliance section on my weekly Home Depot run yesterday and Man! are refrigerators outrageously expensive these days or what? The cheapest I saw was for $727 (for a rather small 17 cu. ft. model) and went up to $3200. $3200.00 for a refrigerator! The average price for the ones I saw at Home Depot was over $1500.00. And if you really have money to burn and want your veggies to reside in first class comfort, there’s this little number for a mere $6899.00. That certainly puts the $681 – $971 I saw for refrigerators in Costa Rica into a different light.
That’s why Golfito is there.Doug WardMember
Expect thunder & lightening storms with or with very heavy rain at the same time, so be prepared to turn off the the power!
Ice always turns mine off for me :?. It’s the only thing they seem capable of.:roll:Doug WardMember

Costaricabill’s advice is right on the (pension) money…8)
In fact, you cannot combine the income from two individuals when applying for residency.
But you never know what Caja may choose to do. When you apply for Caja now they now look at your “Resolution” from immigration, and that document states the amount of income you will be receiving from your pension. So to get 2 Caja accounts they will look at both resolutions. You never know what they will do,but they may add the 2 amounts together to determine your monthly Caja payment(s).
You never know! If things get bad enough CAJA may require FULL income disclosure when they set/adjust your monthly CAJA payments. Never say never… Who would have thought 3 years ago that Uncle Sam would be entering into financial disclosure agreements with foreign governments requiring the AUTOMATIC exchange of bank account balance and transaction information!
That would be me.Doug WardMemberIt’s a waste of time.
Doug WardMemberWrong ! Gas stations cheat stupid people. So do hardware stores. Do you know how much 100 count of tornillos amarillos tres pulgadas para madera weighs ?
Ya better ! I assure you there is NOT 100 in the box.
Do you have a gram-kilo scale at home ?In the car ?
Ya better buy one(two) !
Keep it in the trunk. Go buy 5 kilos of ‘whatever’. Once he bags it run out and get your scale. Look at the look on his-her-it’s face !!!
Welcome to the lying thief capital of planet…planet…….SHIT—-they stole the name of the planet too.:wink:Doug WardMemberWith the labor laws here only an idiot would set up shop.
Once Intel goes, the rest will follow. Coffee is dying . Bananas now have huge problems. The law is a joke. The meatheads want more taxes(from furrnerz) since they have no way to enforce the existing tax laws.
We’ll see how the new pres reacts but I doubt it’s possible to change anything. He’ll throw proposals and they’ll be shelved. Like the poisoned banana workers waiting for a 3 page case to be looked at for 11 years. Costa Rica is over. They BEGGED for it.
A sane society would walk around with a machete and protect tourists visiting his country, hoping for many more to come. The opposite is fact here.Take advantage and hope another dummy shows up tomorrow. If not ? Pura Vida. Sell grannys wedding ring. She doesn’t need it. Grandpa died years ago.
Ticos on all levels can’t handle success of any sort, from monetary gains to a simple name tag that says “assistant to the assistants assistant”, the abuse takes off like a rocket.
They need to go back to dirt floors and no windows or electric(or perfume or iPhones). Poco a poco. It’s coming.:roll:Doug WardMemberI refer to it as El Sendero Gazita since VP invented the lame excuse for building it.
