Make damn sure the car is new enough to handle the 2014 emissions test.Example: A 2004 needs to pass the emissions of an equivalent 2013-14. I’ve seen people bring their super neato Chevy V8 powered 80’s monster Jeep only to be laughed at. It AINT going on the road here.
Doug WardMemberOne more vote. There’s a vascular doctora there named Lorena Grillo. Excellent.
There’s also an opthamologist named Dr. Julian Vidaurre who did wifeys cataracts and made me some proper lenses unlike the clown optometrists(glass salesman) who litter the country selling junk.EDIT. His office is in Liberia central.

C’mon Tom. Tico time doesn’t exist. They either don’t know how to read the thing or they stole it and it’s up for bid.Doug WardMemberFlorencia, Chichagua, Valle Azul, down to near La Fortuna or
Bijagua, Guatuso/Upala are good grow areas as are Turrialba-Cartago which are closer to the central chithole.
There are places like Libano. Los Angeles de Tilaran, Cabanga and others that make good growing with reliable water but services are……welll…..’rustico’ at best.
I wouldn’t have it any other way !Doug WardMember

Just a reminder. Barry is in his “backyard” today so the nimrods that run the “banks” shut down in SJ for the photo-op. Those of you expecting an SS or retirement won’t be getting it until Monday.
I just wish that Russian asteroid would have landed on Crapitol Hell.
Crapitol Hill….LOL…good one! Rep and Dem both suck, I agree totaly!
I just saw Obama told Mexico that the violence was to be blamed on the US for manufacturing firearms. I am sure he followed up with a big fat check to Mexico to compensate them. Maybe someone in CR could benefit from Obama, he has an open check book from the taxpayers. The Dow hit over $15k today, all is good!
Brazil, Ausria and Turkey curentky build better arms/at a better price.
They need to get some FreeDumb(bomb into stone age)Doug WardMemberJFK got planted in 1963. You suck at math.8)
Doug WardMemberI’ll guess it’s close. You can tell from their desired locations. They wanna live in Miami but can’t afford it.
Doug WardMemberIf you speak Spanish and live outside the central hellhole, go see the mayor. He can, and likely will, hook you up.
We had a dipstick up this way that did the same thing. The mayor hooked him up. The fines are +/- double what the taxation is.Doug WardMember
I recently rented out my condo again in Tamarindo, shocked to get the electric bill today which is $320 for the last month.
I know Aprils a hot month so lots of air con being used but that seems outrageously high. Is that normal for the area ? Thanks
I know a dude with a big house, 2 a/c units and a pool.$700-$850/mo.
When you have thieves running the show that’s what you get.
It’s 3 cents a KWH in Oregon.

I just wish that Russian asteroid would have landed on Crapitol Hell.Doug WardMemberJust pay it. Costa Ricans are too incompetent/ignorant to argue with in “court”.
You’re up yonder in Aguacate (avocado—aint none there—another lie).
When you are almost in Tila, on the left, look for an INS sign. Watson. Good man. He’ll wiping da chit frumm your eyes and instruct your process. His Ingles is decent.
I have the botanical garden on the left.I have a serious kickazz coffee machine. Stop by.We can talk more.Doug WardMember
I have to agree with Loraine and Johnny. We moved to Aguacate near Nuevo Arenal 11 months ago. We live, as my hubby says “between two volcanos”. Lightning is more likely to kill you.
As for ‘culture’, I think it is highly overrated 😉 I can go to “the big city” and ride in cabs (don’t drive in SJ, did it, no more) to see museums and churches, but I would rather play or sail in the lake or take a dip in the Rio Aguacate than anything else. Lots of expats up here, several social groups, a garden club, friends to see. Unless my sons decide to present me with grandkids, I don’t even want to visit the states.
The US and San Jose are much the same. Got a number for a septic truck ?:(Doug WardMember
And people snicker at government . . .
David. The govt was voted in…………………..be afraid(or load and lock)Doug WardMember
This is funny, they seem to be working on the page, mine came up yesterday and today there is nothing showing.
I think it will be due by the end of January, after that date you will start paying those tiny fines.
Attorneys should know more…
Nothing funny about it. It’s idiocy. When have you ever seen any Tico site that was fully functional, govt or otherwise ?
THAT’s why they use Farcebook.Made by idiots, for idiots.Doug WardMemberPoor Bill. He probably thinks Detroit is IN the Unknighted Empire too.
