I advocated something? Just two questions, neither of which you addressed (as usual). Invective and rudeness dominate your intellect.

KIMBALL WROTE:
“You want to find fault with capitalism for some strange reason.”

Is that a joke? For some strange reason? Fault with our capitalistic society? I must have a different planet I reside on. Huxley once said, and forgive me, I paraphrase

We live in a contrived universe existing in a planless and incoherent world.

I suggest the latter has a strong argument V. the contrived universe loosely called capitalism, an amoral “ism”.

I “retired” Oct 1,2009. My other retirement income (non-government) paid me for Oct on the 20th, and for Nov on Oct 31. In other words, in advance. Now here comes my own theoretical money from the government (SS), and they pay retroactive for the last month. Am I thinking correct, when you do that with the millions who sign up ALL get paid as if they were on a timeclock…”Oh, he’s still alive, pay him for last month.”

Why do I feel this response buttresses my “offering” of history? And the state of affairs. Body count in the tens of millions/exploitation and destruction of cultures Vs. Supreme deprivation of the elite class, only one Lexus and a Mercedes per family of four?
I give. You win. I’m done here. Amoral and the anti-hero reigns. Your way or the dissolution of “all we hold dear”.
Oh, I’m not a liberal. Watch whose doorjamb you bring this “philosophy” across.

Mr. K, there should be concern (oh, there is!!) that we’re waking up. No comment on the comparison of giving human beings health care to this “use” of taxpayer money? The fact seems to be they all waste our tax money, just seems relevant how. Telling, you might even say. Those manipulators and traitors that “coordinated” with the Nazis in WWII just couldn’t be the prototypes for the modern capitalists moguls…could they? Could the likes of Bush and Ben Laden NEED each other?

I had this dream. A history dream. Indulge me. Early 30’s – 1945. Hitler is backed and supported by the industrialists and the army. The military/industrial complex. 1939-1942. Hitlers war machine is partially supplied by – WOW – Russia’s industrialists and army. Their military/industrial complex (yeah, it existed). 1941-1945. Germany’s and Allied (US!!??) industrialists smooze, whore, frolic and plan together in Portugal and Spain. WHAT? Can’t be true, huh? My spirit floated above this conversation. “Hey, you backed the wrong horse, some payback coming, but don’t worry…we got a PLAN.” 1945. Long after the Nazi’s are kaput, the GREATEST air raids and firebombing is done by Allied bombers, leveling the industries and cities. 1947. The Marshall Plan, trumpeted by all as the greatest humanitarian effort every made (those damn liberals at work, I guess). But, my dream painted this picture. The industries leveled are rebuilt, with US taxpayer money. The industrialists (notable example, scion Krupp, convicted war criminal) are pardoned and they are given EVERYTHING back. 1947 – present. Not one lousy dime repaid. Status quo, samo samo, except of course, WE showed them how to do it right. Partner’s for life.
Was that a dream?

Just a thought. It seems that (to some) the opposite of conservative is liberal. N’est pas? Hmmm, This spectrum seems skewed to me. I have heard, ranted about, “liberal” federal judges. Ha, there is no such animal. Less conservative, maybe. More “subtle” in their approach, maybe. Not liberal. The most obvious examples, besides judges, are…yeah, you got it…Ben Laden and Bush. Both willing to do WHATEVER in their approaches to how life has got to be. Bomb, machine gun, blow up, collateral damage be damned. There are no innocents in their approaches, you are with them…or against them. I would classify both as…dare I say it…conservative.
What may be “refreshing” about this kind of human is that they are out there with their points of view. The fence setters and exploiters are more…hmmmm, in their way.. insidious and damaging. Praise the Lord and buy Boeing stock. Vote the “right” way. Keep the machinery oiled.
In this ongoing discussion, it seems Stalin, and even Hitler were given as examples of leaders of socialist regimes/doctrines. Can anyone suggest they might also be called liberals?

A potential wake up call could be a rule/law that all lawyers in government have to wear red. As people see the sea of red in all 3 branches, a realization might set in. In that group, how many of those lawyers are criminal trial lawyers? Ha. Gosh, corporate sorts. Wonder where theie loyalties and vested interests lie, as they do their government sabbaticals before they return to their real jobs.
Speaking of polls, what are the least respected professions in the good ol’ states?
I admit I don’t read the laws/bills. This is part of the equation, bills written by lawyers so, obviously, only lawyers can read them. Its a beautiful thing.

Bias polls become statistics? I guess the only lesson to be learned is that you guys made out under the politics of division and fear, so why change your tactics. There certainly isn’t a spark of intellect behind such comments as above. Sad, just sad. Aren’t you worried that the hammer wielded by the Bush/Cheney gang has changed hands, and the new regime declares “You are with us…or against us”, and applies the same screws…to you? Oh, they are liberals, they don’t do such things.

Mr. P, I’ve offered no extreme, just observations, as I’ve found no source of wisdom or personality that is capable of telling anyone how to live their lives. As a fact, the “haves” do have a vested interest in the status quo not changing. As an observation, I have real sympathy for the good hearted conservatives out there who have been dragged across a line they never meant to cross…and now find themselves unable to retreat. You are with us…or against us. What a declaration to unify a country seemingly “at war”. Statements made by a draft dodger and a Prez that if he wasn’t so protected, could have been charged with desertion. I won’t bore you with the list of failures and ineptitudes these “leaders” piled up. You’re aware. Does my disgust make me a liberal?
The so-called liberals will not drag US down, Postal. The WE has already been destroyed, and the last president made no bones about it. I just wonder how any thinking person can arrive at the conclusions expressed in these exchanges, re our new President, and ignore the pile of crap sitting at the White House and Capitol Hill doors when he took office. Amazing. At least this guy makes a pretense that it is all about people. Oh, I voted for neither, I’ve never had the indulgence of voting for a person that I thought represented me. I refuse to take the “lessor of two evils” approach to granting the mantle of Leader of the Free World. Forgive me if I point out that this is how we got…well, you catch my drift.

As that icon of the system elitists so eloquently said: “then let them eat cake”. The system hasn’t changed, K, just some alms are being proposed to quell the subspecies and appeal to their humanity. Keep your head down for a minute, and your home boys will take care of things. There’s at least one more GOOD financial jihad awaiting. Keep that broker from Yale on speed dial.

I have the definite impression that some of the folks protesting the most stridently have done quite well the last few years/decades…despite being the self proclaimed ones “on the hook” for every social program out there. Is it the notion (real or not) of social conscious and commitment of those now in power that disturbs you, or that your golden calf might be turning to stone? Thirty years of unadulterated capitalistic rampaging (yea, Clinton too) has NOT left this country in a better place. Watch out, the blinders will spoil your tan.
