Imx, I am humbled by the revelation I just got from your patiently working your way into my brain. THE perfect solution. One term president Bush and that liberal paragon Clinton broker the mess. Who could not rejoice? Riding around waving to the overawed crowd (after all, these are the lap boys of Zeus), handing out jelly beans and back nine passes to the Congressional Country Club (Mondays only, front tee’s, all the mulligans they want, and of course, all the hole in ones they want – we provide the witnesses). A Hide Your Daughter Alert would be put out to all above the rank deputy assistant minister of the cloakroom, of course.
Of course, this would have to fit in somewhere between their appearances at those mysterious enclaves where its rumored they dress up like French dancing girls from the 30’s, and kick up their heels while they unwind from their tasks of steering the world.
Now, imx, I want the power. I WANT to make that happen, and get invited to those “things”. Awwww, all we can really hope for is we don’t get our fingers stepped on scambling for the scraps that fell off the table.
    Never mind.
    lol. Just kidding. sob

Howdy Imx. I like this, trying to be a nice guy thing. How’s the dog?
However, WE are talking about the history of Central America and Colonels who haven’t seen their feet in 30 years taking power, aren’t we? You know, the ones lined up at the trough taking CIA handouts? You knowwwww, THAT history. Help me out, make it simple, The Hitler and Eleanor having an affair (what was that allusion you used, forgive me if I forgot) history lesson you threw in confused my feeble mind.
I have no dog in this race, podnah. As if there are sides we are supposed to be on, even if we weren’t on the sidelines, smacking our gum and observing.
Why any person of intelligence, with no vested, personal interest would find themselves HAVING to vent is what gets me, imx. Is there any thought at all to why, as soon as ANYTHING occurs, the wolves trot out the combined wisdom of Rosh Coulter? That is their talking points, I assume you are aware. Or is it just, like minds think alike, and just a coincidence. Rosh has stated his goal, to help this president fail. What is your motivation? lol

Hmmm, interesting article? Put out by Anne Coulter, written by an acknowledged enemy of Chavez, whose credentials are “petroleum geologist AND public policy expert”. Wow. No conflicts of interest there.
The 22nd Amendment has been mentioned recently. Amendment? What is that, exactly? Again, after all your “enlightening” efforts imx, I an struck by the single directional thrust of ALL your perspectives regarding policy in ALL your comments. Sorry Home Boy, that’s not perspective, that’s dogma. Even among your selves, in your heart of hearts, doesn’t it get embarrassing to have to turn to Anne and Rosh for your “news”…and conversation.
What’s brain candy to you guys is very dangerous ground for those involved. Are you really the ones to be issuing definitive statements of “truth” on THIS website? Are you serving ANY good by venting your political spleen? sob (a cry, out loud)

Oh, btw (means “by the way”), since you’re my new best old friend, I come from the same town as the Wallace brothers and Kenny Shroeder is from the next town over. RedNeck, our grandaddies were moonshiners. We didn’t call them Feds, they were Revenooers. Maybe we ought to resurrect that title, seems like nobody cared when a couple of them went up into the hills…and alas, must have fallen in some hole.
I repeat. NOBODY cared. The rules were understood by all.
You know, imx, the REAL days of lickedy split.

Thank you for cooling your roll. I DO appreciate a sense of humor, and the knowledge you share on this site.
I just think that intelligence can be used in many ways, and I’m one for letting these people figure things out for themselves. When I read comments such as on this thread, I take a wild guess at the number of helicopters and arms being immediately supplied to these paragons of constitutional law…and where its coming from. Are you three accepting any responsibility, in your point of view, for the results? Of course not.
At least, imx, what would an “educated” guess lead you to? What’s gonna happen in a Central American country where the Army has taken power? Wow, I wish there was some history to draw on. Of course, i can be cavalier about it. I have no Chiquita stock.
Also, the assignation of this country’s woes to a man in office for 5 months shows nothing but bias. I hear no “answers” in regard to the “big picture”.
Can I get an Amen to the fat cats raping looting and stealing? Who cares what party they are from.

Then why don’t I laugh out loud?
imx, you make significant and helpful contributions to this site. I thank you for that.
However, if you think ANYONE does not “get your point”, even us ignorant average Americans can rise to the occasion. lol.
    Hitler? Eleanor? WWII? FDR?
    Central American tin pot armies?
    Vested interests?
By the way, in the “real” American, Put the hammer down has a different meaning than you might have wanted. lol
I’m starting to like this “lol” stuff. Maybe I can graduate to LOL. lol.

Hmmm, personal attack on a woman. Surprised real men would notice such details. But then again, they wouldn’t.
As a wise man once noted “When the going gets tough, this thread heads for the hills.”
Folks, these guys would try to convince you they are patriots. Hey, they might even be your neighbors, the kind you need in tough times.
Mister “I’ll give you the big picture” segues into personal attack on a woman’s wardrobe. Pitiful.

While I don’t have a clue as to the real machinations going on, I do know where you two have your radio tuned to in the morning. On one hand, good thing ol’ Oscar doesn’t have an army, yet good thing Honduras has “dutiful” generals and an army. You bet, that army usurpation (sorry, but that’s what it is) is for the common folk and the good ol’ Honduran constitution.
Weighing in already, are we, ye masters of perspective?

A trained intelligence analyst OBJECTIVELY weighs two things first. Cause and affect. If you cannot be objective, you cannot analyze. Hardest to be objective about is – who gains.

Ahhh, I see. So they deliberately used a “generic” word when they specifically meant property. Aha. I am one who takes no pride in my knowledge as it has shown me how little I know.
I do enjoy others explaining the meaning of the word happiness, though. Perhaps all of their writings are as illusive as the example you’ve pointed out, and the whole shebang is….hmmmm, what would it be then?
Never mind. It’s enough to know those Christian forefathers felt the pursuit of property was God’s design to make us happy. Certainly enough have died fighting over the “Blessed” property of Israel, so you must be right on all accounts.
Oh gosh. Just a thought. In order to correctly study the historical documents you must have the ability to think like they do or you just might get caught up in the promise they suggest and not what they actually meant. From this simple persons standpoint, of course.

I must assume you have made your point. Over and Over and over ad infinitum. Watch out, you’ll break your arm patting yourself on the back. Smugness seems to be at a contagious level.

Now there’s a reasonable “to the bulwarks” cry in which I am your ally, as long as it doesn’t come disguised in the form of affable leaders hooked up with manipulative capitalists (use money mongers if you prefer) that dominate the lives of the rest of us. Am I confused, or is that what has been happening the last 30 years? Objectively, please.
I’m not a student of economics but it seems to me the stock and commodities markets long ago lost their intent and moved into legalized gambling. I put forward the case of Phillips 66 oil as the “pivot” point in this transformation.

But WHO gives me that freedom, Kimball. As an intellect and knowledgeable person, would you say the history of the Sons of Abraham suggest it comes from your God? Enough of that, I’m just suggesting that between intelligent and like minded individuals, “God given rights” is a canard and hindrance. What I think we are talking about is guts. The guts to find values between ourselves worth standing up for, especially when we know the defamers of the world’s greatest hopes are our own leaders. When “hard earned dollars” erupts from the mouths of good folks who haven’t had a callus on their hands in their lifetime and whose personal financial agendas tie them to the usurpers of our rights, “hard earned dollars” goes down kinda hard. All present excepted, of course.
I truly hope no one reading this finds discomfort in what I’ve written. However, the tone of some of these discussions suggest a segment that has passed the point of no return, to include any discomfort at their thoughts/actions and consequent allegiances.

Hmmm. Does it actually have (Property) following Happiness in the Declaration of Independence. Excuse me, but if there is no God, or you become an animist, do we all lose those rights? And just for arguments sake, some would say the economy has been trashed by deregulation. I’m actually in tacit agreement with some of the things you espouse, but please don’t take my rights away because I don’t believe in your god. Ok? Sudden thought. You ARE talking about the GOD of the old testament, aren’t you? Seems to me he had little truck with the rights of those who didn’t believe.

If every thinking person kept his values in place, and evaluated his OWN leaders (and lifestyle) in relationship to those values, this world would be a better place. How convenient to “unabashedly” endorse a power fulcrum so far out of the understanding of us plebians instead of holding your own duly elected (do I hear groans) leaders to account. Hey, let’s worry about Senor Arias.
So much for your values, just give me a pie in the sky that I can attach my morality to so I can face the day. I hereby cauterize my sense of responsibility so that my agenda can be met.
