In regards to not being able to work over in costa rica, surely there are some places that take on casual staff, not every place is going to go completly by the book, so to speak!

I heard that there are surf bars someplace over there, is this true??

Thank you for the link to the volunteer program, its been added as a bookmark, are there any over volunteer programs that people no about??

If work is not an option and volunteering seems to be the way forward, then can someone give me a rough idea of how much money is needed for 3 months over there (not including flights).

sorry for asking so many questions just trying to gather as much information as i can!
