geminigioMemberI just took a look at the construction and it looks great, thanks for posting the information. The price per sq. foot is right in line with what I’m looking to spend, can you tell me the name of this builder?
Thanks again,
Artie Giordano
geminigioMemberScott, I can’t believe you are tolerating this nonsense. What does all this garbage talk have to do with welovecostarica.com ?
These people are abusing this discussion board, especially this Diego gentleman and I would hope that he takes your warning seriously and stops with the offensive banter.Respectfully,

geminigioMemberwell, I am happy to say that I passed on doing business with Paragon for a number of reasons. I bought 5 lots from Costa Developers and my experience has been a good one…some problems, yes, but minimal and we worked them out easy enough. .i don’t think it’s just American companies that are causing problems though, I believe dishonest and unethical business people are everywhere on the planet! Do your due diligence and go with your gut if persistant bad vibes are hounding you….Take your time and do not rush into things….Anyone wishing to know about my good and bad experiences in dealing with real estate in CR please feel free to contact me here on welovecostarica.com

geminigioMemberMy pleasure…I had to write because I know first-hand that these people (the banks) can make you nuts like they did to me….lol….I have been going through the residency process and after several weeks I am almost done. If you need any help or have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask, ok
thanks for writing back, best of luck to you,Artie giordano
geminigioMemberHi, you are so right about the banks not wanting to write that letter, i had a heck of a time myself. I went to all 3 banks that I have accounts with. No one would write the letter, they all said the way it was worded was a problem. after weeks of making calls and having meetings with people at the banks I got no where! Finally, i introduced myself to a young VP of the bank(Chase) and explained my problem. He looked at the sample letter that my Costa Rican attorney sent me and wrote the letter just like the sample and I was out of there in 10 minutes. The banks can do anything they want to do. The “keyword” here is “want” There is nothing in the letter we are requesting that places the bank in any kind of jeapardy. I suggest you bring your sample letter and make an appoitment with a bank officer, NOT a manager or managers assistant, they have no power to make decisions like this. I hope this helps you. Your Costa rican attorney can send you a sample letter…you will need that becasue the bank will tell you that they don’t know what you are talking about. Hope this helps,

geminigioMemberCarl, it sounds like you are quite experienced. Costa Developers is a company that may be of some interest to you. They are just under way building over 100 homes at a project called Costa Montanya Try to contact Carlos Flores (Construction Mgr.) or Ricardo Lizano (Project Mgr.). These gentlemen are very professional and maybe they have a position for a man of your experience, it’a worth a try.
geminigioMemberHi Stanley,
My name is Artie giordano and I have a Costa rican Attorney who has done a very good job for me in a few different areas. If you would like his name please let me know and I will forward the info to you. He has an office in san jose and an office in Escazu. His staff is excellent also.Artie Giordano

I was driving in my car and i thoguth it seemed like two miles at most…If I’m wrong (since i did not officially clock it on my odometer) and it seems you did, then fine, I’ll say I was wrong and it could be 4 miles. But, it is certainly not 14 miles…I will consider this subject closed now, no reason to continue talking about it..Thanks for writing.

geminigioMemberYou are very wrong my friend..I just came back from touring Reserva and the ocean is approx. 1 to 1/2 mile from the Reserva site (if that far), depending where you are on the Reserva site. Please state the facts, I’m sure you don’t want to look like a fool who is posting the wrong information, right? If you don’t like the company, fine that’s your choice but don’t lie, you would be doing a disservice to your fellow members.

geminigioMemberYes, we are going to build a home but the time frame is uncertain right now…We will be moving there before we build a house. We feel that we want to be close during the construction to keep an eye on things. I’d have to say that we will moving there in about 18 months and building in two years.

geminigioMemberThankyou for your reply, it was very informative, I guess my impression was so bad because of some sales people who’s attitudes were obnoxious. It sounds like they have been honest and above board with you so that’s good to hear and I’m glad for you and your partners. It’s funny how everyone has a different experience depending on the sales people they happen to deal with on that day. I had a wonderful experience with Costa’s sales people but I must admit I have heard from many people who said that they had terrible experiences with Costa’s sales people too, I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I bought 3 lots at Esterillos and I’ve got a long wait before anything really developes there but I’m not in a rush so it does not matter.
Nice to be in touch with you, take care,Artie giordano
geminigioMemberThis company contacted me after I inquired about the properties they are selling, “Columbus Heights” was one of them and the other was “Vista Pacifica” I believe. I was so turned off by the arrogance of these sales people that I wish I’d never inquired. They called my home phone at least 50 times in four days and never left a message. I spoke to a salesperson and explained that I was no longer interested and they had a sales manager call me and I told him the same thing. A few days later they had another person call me and finally I asked if he could just send me a berochure and his card (BECAUSE HE WOULD NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER) so Icould look it over and that I would get back to him if I was interested. He said first I would have to call and speak to his attorney in Texas. I asked him why and he said it’s protocol. I told him I had no intentions of calling his Texas attorney for no reason and so he told me I would not be receiving an information packet. A few days later the information packet arrived?????? A week later they called again and I informed him that I purchased property with another developer and he proceeded to “Bad Mouth” this developer and any others I mentioned. They were rude & unprofessional and the sales tactics used were the “highest pressure” I have encountered with any Developer in Costa Rica, and there have been many. My recommendation would be to get a copy of Scott’s book (No, I do not work for scott Nor do I know him)”How to buy CR Real Estate without losing Your Camisa” The book is going to help me when I make my next real estate purchase in CR which will be soon. I’m sure the book wiil be helpful to others as well.
Good Luck to all,
Artie
